Is it random?
I've been playing since launch and so far only 2 villagers have asked to leave (only one was given the okay to do so).
I heard from before that it was less frequent than in NL games but that's just like 2 potential move-outs during a month and I don't TT.
I guess I was hoping I could get some villagers out quicker to go Island hopping and meet new ones.

For me it seems like there's quite a large window in between villagers wanting to move. I would say at least two weeks, maybe longer.

The guide for moving villagers out says to TT forward one month so it might be even longer than I've speculated!

i don't know if there's any official confirmation, but i've read multiple people saying it's two weeks. that matches up with my experience as well.

I had a villager ask me to move on the 5th of April and then again yesterday. I let both of them move out.

Previous replies mentioning ~2 weeks line up with my past experience. I usually TT 2 weeks, and if not then, then usually 2 days (for a total of 16 days) later they ask.

Yeah, that would confirm pretty much what I experienced then.
I wish it was a bit more often tbh - I'd love for it to be every week especially now since we can just stop them but oh well.
Won't be TT'ing but just wanted to know.

So you mean every 4 days someone asks to leave?

Not necessarily, but given my experience there's a chance.

did you deny them? i'm thinking that the two weeks only applies to requests that you confirm

Yes, I denied them both times. I have 2 villagers I'm trying to get out, but given the seemingly wide window of time between requests I feel like this could take a while. I have -in general- very bad RNG luck. :(

I just went 4 days between requests.

When I was TTing I was able to get a new villager asking to move out every day after skipping the first one.
so: I skipped 15 days and if it wasn't the one I wanted then I would quickly exit (before it auto-saved), skip to the next day, and look for someone again. Was able to do that for up to a week once to get someone out

That's good to know! Were you ever able to get your most recent move in to ping?

yup! Bruce asked to move out a few days after I got him =')
I also got the same villager asking to move out 2 days in a row, but for the most part this method worked really well for me. Each villager took me between 20 minutes to 3 hours (on-and-off) to move out.
