This might not be the right place for this, since it involves villager trading and tbt, but since it's not a trading/auction/selling specific thread, I don't know where else it would go x_x

I'm mostly curious about what others think is too much to ask for certain villagers within the tiers 2-5? Like, I understand a tier 1 being expensive and tier 2 being fairly close, but how much would you be willing to pay in tbt for a villager in one of those tiers, and where would you say "Sorry, that seems unfair."

I ask because I'm debating buying one of my dreamies, even though I feel like the price might be a little too high for her tier :/ At least compared to what I've seen others sell villagers in that tier for.

Yeah I don't think this is in the right place but anyway:

tier 1 100-150tbt

tier 2 50-100tbt

tier 3 25-50tbt

tier 4 and 5 free!

That is the system I go by :P

Yep this too, is the system I go by also. It helps me not sound so greedy at time xD But I will only sell a villager for TBT if they are above tier 2

Because people always try to trick new members >m<

I know ; ~ ; Altho before I make a buy, I check prices and reference other threads to get a good grasp of what it usually sells for. Ain't nobody tricking me. I recommend OP do that too.

I once paid 350 tbt for a tier 5... It's a damn good thing the villager i wanted was a cutie.

I always seen tier ones go for anywhere from 150-300
Tier twos are typically 100-150
Tier threes are 50-75
Tier fours are free-35
and tier fives hardly ever cost anything
If someone feels like the price is too high you can always let them know you are willing to negotiate.

I've started charging a little more now that I let people reserve and pick up at their leisure. It's a lot of work getting those villagers out at a specific time so I'm charging more for the work involved than the actual villager I suppose.

That's completely understandable in my opinion. I understand the work that goes into it.

I'm not sure what other thread to put this in ;;

But that's the system I've always followed and felt was fair. I feel that reservation fees or fees to not void auto-voided villagers is pretty fair, too.

^^^^

but i once had somebody ask me 150tbt for a tier 5. thats waayy too much.

Someone asked me for 200tbt for a tier two, which I suppose isn't that unfair, but still a little more than I expected. :/

I think it all depends on how badly you want a said villager. If you want that villager badly enough, you would pay however the amount regardless of the tier that the said villager is in. Even if I'm looking for a lower tiered villager, I don't assume that I would get it for free. Also because of auto-voiding, some lower tiered villagers become hard to find; and people will pay to obtain villagers that are hard to find (the same goes for extremely popular villagers where the demand is high). And just because a villager is popular, that doesn't mean you'd always get an offer for it. I once put Bunnie up for adoption and did not even get a single offer. At the end of the day, villagers are villagers; the fact that they are popular doesn't make them the Gucci and the rest mass produced counterfeits on which you're entitled to deep discounts.

Lets see ;-;
I usually just sell to the first person who offers, sometimes other people offer and the prices go up but these are my fixes starting price that I will sell you to for if noone else offers by the time i check the thread.
Tier 1 is 150
Tier 2 is 100
tier 3 is like 50-100( Depends if other people offer for them( usually more common to see people offering more for t3))
Tier 4 and 5 I dont bother with, i'll put the sprite of tier 4 but noone has shown interest.

I have a few tier 4-5's as dreamies in my second town, and trying to find them has been the worst :c

Well, there are 513544687534582 cycling threads over at the VTP now, and a lot of them are free.
If you don't want to pay whatever amount with forum bells or IGB for villagers,
then DON'T.

There are always many other sites that you can go to for free villagers.

That said, with the insane forum bells to IGB (or vice versa) conversion rates, plus the fact that ACNL has been out for 2 years, the prices for villagers, naturally, have took a drastic fall.

Another painfully obvious fact that many choose to ignore, as long as they can benefit from it:
The "duping/cloning" of villagers using certain methods and devices (which I believe is against forum rules to mention/discuss here but we all know what those are).
These "cyclers" are selling almost exclusively popular high tier villagers,
with members flocking to buy them.
They are very easy to spot, and they are literally all over the place, not just for villagers.
If that Dreamie you mentioned happen to be a popular T1-2, you should have no problem finding one for yourself at a price that matches your expectations.

On a brighter side, a lot of (real) cyclers in the VTP are super awesome nice people.
Most of them give out villagers of ALL tiers for free, and will take reservations and hold villagers for you.
Many will remove less popular villagers from auto-void when you requested it. ^.^

Good luck with your Dreamie search! C:

I paid 300 TBT for a 100% original tier 1 villager dreamie, but that's the highest I'd pay and only for tier 1. Mostly I got my villagers free from my cycle town or other people's cycle towns, I won Kabuki in a raffle.
