How much stuff do you think you can put out without a frame rate drop?

Feels like the bamboo grass makes the frame rate drop and I wonder if it is because of its animation.

I have 2 bamboo grass sitting out and I haven't noticed a frame rate drop.

I play docked 99% of the time though. Undocked Switches (which includes the permanently undocked Lites) don't perform as well as docked. I also definitely don't have as much furniture sitting around as many of those 5* island tour videos I see on YouTube.

I have a pretty dense gym area and don't experience any lag even though there's a lot of stuff thrown into a small space

I find that when I place custom designs in conjunction with a lot of items I experience a frame rate drop in some places. In other places I may have more items but less custom designs and it doesn't happen there!

That is really good to know!

Yeah I play on a switch lite.
Would a regular switch do better while undocked?

My FR drops like crazy near my "cafe" area and I think I only have a couple of furniture items out? I play in handheld mode so maybe that's why. My stall always has issues loading.

Huh, I’ve never noticed a frame rate drop around bamboo grass! I’ll have to test that lol

I have lots of items and have had a couple bamboo grass and no frame rate drop in handheld mode on either Switch or my former Switch Lite. But, aside from paths, I don't really have any custom items. Could it have to do with how many other games are on your Switch or your internet connection?

I only noticed frame rate drop when I put a two tier waterfall between my shopping area and cemetery. I changed it to 1 tier with a fence at the top and moved some of the furniture in my shopping district and it does fine now. I hate that there is such a thin line between lagging and not lagging.

i've only experienced frames dropping when being around a lot of flowers (as in, half my island was flowers lol)

I play undocked 99% of the time and mainly notice frame drops on dream islands around custom patterns on the ground and a loooottt of flowers.. 1 bamboo grass definitely isn't the problem, but might just be enough for it to be noticeable when placed around other stuff

I have the original switch and I always experience some lag in one of my dense areas. Just depends on which Switch you have and how much stuff you have in one space.
