i haven’t traded for a while but, how much, like let’s say raymond & marshal go for now compared to when the game was new?

i have a few tickets saved up and at this point idk if i should just use it myself to go island hopping to look for dom or just trade the tickets for him. i’ve been noticing villager trading has been really quiet lately.

Well when tickets were at their highest, I believe it was 200k - 300k each. The accepted rate now is 20k per NMT.

Not sure about Raymond, but Marshal is definitely down, I've seen him go for like 30 NMT but can be up to maybe 100 NMT.

If you are set on Dom, your odds are probably better finding a trade than him appearing on an island.

The odds of finding one specific villager through island hopping are so low that it’s really only worth the tickets if you are open to a lot of different villagers or have a bunch of tickets to spare.

funny how there were several threads to rant about the value of them being so high. i mean i know it will decrease in a few months, but not this quick. to think these discussions were just WEEKS ago lol. no complains tho!

that’s true. would probably just trade for him. i’ve never really island hop for 1 specific villager before. i guess i’m looking for audie too but since i want a new jock, that’s why he’s the priority.

though i missed island hopping (it’s been months). probably will stop after 20 tickets. i went there basically now to look for him but i was enjoying getting resources more lol took basic wood, recipes, fruits, golden nuggets, & even caught a mahi-mahi for the first time

It's also tricky to base NMT value on villager bids, because demand for villagers has gone down too. It's a very imprecise system. I'm kinda glad I'm not sitting on a bunch of NMT right now.

yeah that’s why i asked how much do villager bids go for now in average (raymond/marshal for example) because i feel like even if the value has gone down, some of these villagers could still go for plenty of nmt’s since the market demand has decreased.

i don’t even see the villager tier list being bumped or discussed anymore

I was lucky with Dom when island hopping, but seeing to overall odds I played it... safe I guess with Raymond and Marshal. Dunno what I'll fo in the future.
If you are set on Dom I say try lurking and see what the offers are, I think it's worth the wait, you can get lucky.

i just went on nookazon and these people still asking 300 tickets for him. crazy.

I think people just hoard them to get villager hunting, especially for the new villagers. I just hoard NMTs to trade lol.

The short answer: Nothing.

The long answer: (Next to) nothing. TBT : NMT ratio is probably not the best way to measure the value of the NMT, because there's specifically too many sellers who are looking for TBT. I think this has died down somewhat; sellers could probably get away with raising their rates with 1:2, but even that is not a good rate to be selling at, it's just slightly less bad.

That being said, NMTs were worth 250k IGB, now I see them going for ~100k each. They've lost 60% of their original value in just over three months.

Yeah, some people go on villager hunts and go over 800 nmts or more without finding the 1 they want.

finally got him through trade. maybe nookazon ain't so bad afterall lol. this is like only my 3rd successful transaction there though.

they're still useful for trading villagers. average bidding on nookazon goes for 100. it's crazy out there.

Nookazon has plenty of reasonable people. I use it for item trades all the time. I notice an ordinary item will have listings asking for the moon (sometimes literally) but then there will be other people who are like "eh whatever, 10k bells is ok for a price for me." So yeah, you kind of have to filter out the greedy people. But these forums have also been a great way to adopt villagers - I got Ankha here back in NL times.
