How many towns have you gone through?

I'm always hearing people talking about resetting their town, or that they just reset their town and need things for it. All I have to say, is WHY??? Why would you work so hard in a town then just reset it? Just lose everything you worked for, and lose your great villagers.

Heck, some people buy entire other games just for a cycling town or something. Although I have to give props to these people, it takes dedication to Animal Crossing to buy an entire other game.

So how many towns have you gone through? Did you buy another game (or five)? So tell me so I know why people do this.

(I guess I can't be too judgmental, after all, I have two copies of City Folk / Let's Go to the City, but that was so we could go to each others towns, but then Nintendo pulled a fast one on us and pulled the plug on it :( oh well...)

I just have my original I started in January and have never reset. I also bought a used game that had a town on it that i reset to make my cycling town.

Well sometimes later down the line no matter how hard you worked on a town, you become unhappy with it, which many things contribute to for example layout or you settled with a permanent PWP only to realise it looked better somewhere else and then not being able to delete it because it's permanent. Which to me is a huge factor in resetting. Sure you can make it work sometimes, which i'm currently trying to do as my current police station doesn't fit my theme and I'd rather not lose my progress but when you know something is not how you envisioned it or wanted it to be it bugs you, which is why many choose to reset. I've reset a ton of times because of that and i'm currently tempted to reset my current town. What keeps me going is that no town is perfect - and no matter how many times I reset each town will have it's flaws. That and all the hard work i've put into it.

To answer the thread title, i've reset too many times to physically keep track of so unfortunately I don't know how many times I have but I know it's probably a lot since i've been playing the game for 3+ years and have never kept a town for over a year actively.

Wow I restart a lot of the times but it's because I'm not happy with my towns and they just went all disappointed

I've resetted quite a few times and I even bought a new copy yesterday (which I'm using as a cycle town atm) but most of the time its because I've become bored with it. No matter how many villagers I bring in or so I always will never be satisfied until I reset. Hopefully my newest town won't become like that since I really enjoy it so far

I haven't restarted my town since I put a lot of work into it. I did it when I first bought the game just because I couldn't stand the hairstyle I had. Didn't want to keep it until I could unlock shampoodles so I reset. I also bought a second cartridge so I could have another town if I wanted. I've turned it into a cycling town now but I might change that at some point

I remade my town when I first came here. :v I have another ACNL card because it was given away. Now I just hold my favorite villagers on the other cartridge.

I just got a fourth copy of New Leaf, mainly because I hate the thought of starting over from scratch. Plus having a new town will give me the opportunity to take advantage of the Amiibo update, since my other towns are basically stasis cubes and none of my villagers can leave. Ever.

Having said that, I'm only REALLY attached to one of my towns, so resetting the others wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, especially since I can use my other towns to hold stuff.

two. i reset when i get bored and dont really feel like theres much more to do with my town. i dont want it to just sit there and collect dust.

I've reset my game so much times... Ugh. However, on my newest save, I've been playing through day-be-day for a good three weeks now, and I'm hoping I will continue to do so. I'm enjoying it more than ever, probably because I'm less focused on making my town totally perfect and more focused on using it as a relaxing pastime.

In one way people who reset a lot are dedicated because they are willing to sacrifice so many things just to get their town to be better. I am on my 7th town and I also have a cycling town. I have moved villagers to my new town when I reset and items.

I have been through three (in New Leaf). My first town, Wisteria, was great, but I didn't care for the layout and my husband wanted to try his hand at being Mayor, so I let him create his own town (Westeros). When he lost interest in Westeros, I became mayor of Dulcet and that's where I am now. I chose the layout of Dulcet meticulously and have gotten farther with landscaping and developing in his town than I ever have before.

I lost count. Probably around 4. I've reset before because I was clueless about many things, which ended up hurting my town. I had no idea how to get dream villagers or place permanent PWPs in the right spot, where I wouldn't regret it. I did not get far with my other towns, so I'm not too bummed out. My newest town, Kamiki, is the most invested town of mine.

I've never reset :P I've had the same town for over two and a half years. There were times where I got bored with my town, but tearing down and rebuilding all my pwps, changing my landscaping around and moving in some new villagers fixed that.

I own 3 copies of AC:NL. One is my main, one cycling, one secondary town. I've reset my main 5-6 times now, and my other two 2-3 times.

My boyfriend also owns 3 copies, but he bought a whole other 3DS to play AC on! So he's worse off than me x v x

I have never reset and never will. I just get a new cartridge or just work out any problems that may have come up with a random move in(which really has happened at most 3 times.)
I am religious with my game and know when I will or not get a mover if even in my non cycling towns. I consider myself almost an expert and have only lost 2-3 villagers out of my now 7 towns. I actually keep spread sheats for them. They say most things are random but ever in my experience but I guess I also follow up on the biometrics of each town. Now with ACNL being a Nintendo select game it's even easier.
I don't play any other DS game and never had and am disabled so I have a lot of time to do what I want even of i mess up. I don't see the point in putting all the time in to a game and just because you make a mistake or a villager moves into not an ordeal spot I have not found anything that can't be fixed with time and tenacity.

I resetted 3 times.

When I first got back into the game, I didn't expect to take it seriously so I didn't care about the town layout and where I placed things. However for some reason, I really got obsessed with the game this time. I tried working with my town for awhile but the layout was honestly so awful. I wasn't ready to let go of all the hard work so instead I thought of having 2 towns so I bought a digital copy. However, I wasn't that there was a good chance that it'll corrupt save so that was always in the back of my mind.

About two weeks ago, I finally deleted my first town (the one in the cartridge). I got the perfect layout, perfect apples and circle grass. Everything I wanted. I'm really happy with my decision!
