how many petition will each villager ask to sign?

Only one at a time, but they can always give you another petition later on.

oh... that means more than 1. Well, I have Fang who has been in my town for 7 months now. He only asked me once!! LOL

Marshal asks for me to sign a new petition almost every day... kind of annoying. lol

They rarely ever ask me to sign petitions unless I'm tting, then they ask often.

They don't ask me often and I'm glad(never had anyone ask more than once though). After the first time I gave up doing them. Someone here let me go to his town but he only had 6 people and one was in boxes so he wouldn't sign. Then when I was finally able to go to another town I got the nintendo error. I did eventually get the 6th sig and wound up shooting myself in the foot(figuratively speaking). I read that they should give u a pic when u get a petition signed and if not just quit without saving til they do(this can take time). I did this repeatedly with no luck and decided to give up, go to bed and try again the next day. What I was thinking I do not know. Of course the next day I face palmed when I realized my stupidity. So of course it was too late to give them the petition, I got nothing for my efforts and to this day I still don't have Cherry's picture. :/
