How many NMT did it take you to find a dreamie?

None of my villagers that I got through NM islands were planned. I just went to a couple islands and invited whoever I liked at the time. I think Jambette, who was my 3rd villager, was my 2nd or 3rd ticket. Bianca (now moved out), Freya, and Hamphrey were villagers I invited under 20 tickets. I hunted for Cyd using 100+ tickets and never found him. That experience turned me off hunting for villagers on NM islands for good. Luckily I was able to adopt him from a giveaway before anyone else moved in.

Ahh I’m doing some island hopping again after taking a LONG break from it (got too frustrating finding the same villagers over and over). I haven’t actually found anybody I’m looking for yet, last time I impulsively adopted Dom when I saw him because it was the first time I found any of the new villagers. :P

Today I’m at 27 tickets and nothing so far~ I saw Sherb but didn’t take him. And I just had a weird streak of running into old villagers - first it was Coach who was one of my starters, then Rolf who only moved recently, then Celia my starter normal, followed by Pango my starter peppy! Really odd. Still have lots of tickets left so crossing my fingers I can find somebody today :)

Merengue was a random move-in so she cost me nothing! Which was fortunate because she's my main favorite. Bluebear took 15 NMT, Marina took 35. I found Raymond (though I never even put him on my list because I didn't think I'd ever find him lol) on 20 tickets randomly. Those were all the random mystery island searches!

I spent about 100 each on Dom and Judy trading for them online. I feel like I've been pretty fortunate on searches so far!

For Julian, it took 137 tickets.

For Elmer, however, I'm pretty sure I went through roughly 180-200 tickets. That had to be the worst/best hunt so far. And I pray I will never have to do a hunt that long ever again.

i found many villagers i loved pretty quickly (had never island hopped for more than 20 tickets). UNTIL i started looking for a very specific villager, Pekoe. 500 tickets and i never found her. I saw many villagers i love of course but not her, and at around 300 i found another dreamie. But never her. So i just bought her from a lovely shop here, ez ┐(´∀`)┌

It seems I've been really lucky so far. While I never hunted for anyone specific when island hopping, it always took me less than 15 tickets to come across someone I like. I found Marshal at random on my third ticket and in general come across high tier villagers very often.

I've met Merengue, Chrissy, all the octopi several times, a bunch of wolf villagers, Rosie, Roald, Aurora and Sherb. Judy and Julian were in my campsite recently. In general I just pick up whoever I vibe with, I don't have a dreamy list or a theme.

The only villagers I truly love are Cube and Colton, but I don't think I'd invite them to live on my island. I loved them in WW and NL and I think I'd be very disappointed with their dialogue and lack of personality (one of the biggest flaws of NH imo).

i found Merengue and Zucker both under 20 nmt. those were the main villagers i really wanted, so after that i was using tickets to find someone i like but no one in particular.
i think i used over 200 tickets one night and found no-one good, and it took me probably over 300 to find audie, dom and judy. dom isn't a dreamie and nor was judy but they're cute so i took them on.
i'm currently looking for cats, i.e. Lolly, Rosie, Ankha, etc. and i haven't seen any of them on mystery islands. i didn't cats would be so hard to find on mystery islands aha

For Peewee it took me a lot of tickets.. I have been looking for him casually since I got the game (at the end of may) but things didn't get serious in my pursuit of him until August.

My first hunt I was looking for Peewee OR a smug OR an Uchi, since at the time I didn't have any smugs or Uchi. I spent 90+ tickets and settled for Tammy.

The second serious hunt I spent 80 tickets looking for Peewee and only Peewee and I found him after 80 tickets. 😄

I still need to make a lot more changes to my villager lineup but I'm taking a break from villager hunting for a while for sure.

I've gotten all of my dreamies so far from online trading (Lucky wasn't a dreamie, I just invited him on a whim), except for Zucker! I purposefully went out looking for dreamies using NMT, tbh I was just looking for Judy originally but I figured I'd invite the first dreamie I saw.

It took me around 13 NMT to find Zucker. I already had a lazy villager so I thought I wouldn't get him. I know octopi are actually more common than other species due to how few there are, but I was still pretty happy I found him! I'd already plotted where his house was gonna be so it worked out really well.

I found Judy around 130+, I can't remember the exact number bc I took a sleep break and lost count. She was on the very last island I could go to bc I was all out of nmt, and was ready to just accept whoever would randomly move in but then there she was. It was pretty amazing.

I believe I spent 60 looking for Pietro before I was fortunate enough to find someone giving him away online.

As fun as island hopping is I have to say I do not regret taking the easy way out. I still island hop whenever someone moves out and I find it infinitely more fun now that I don't have to skip other villagers I like.

To be honest, I don't really have any big "dreamies"- mostly just villagers I want at some point. The villagers I've liked the most I've mainly found on here (Julia, Vic, Tangy) but one big goal of mine, Maple, I got super lucky with as a random camper. The only time I found a villager I was actively searching for on an island was Shep, and I think I was... 50ish tickets in or so? I was SO excited to find him since he was one of the top three villagers I was looking for at the time

The past two times I went island hopping I had a bunch of tickets and was all pumped up to be island hopping all day... then I found cool villagers within, like, 10 or so tickets each time. First was Lucky- he just is so cute and has such a fun house I couldn't resist bringing him on my island to have him for Halloween. Next was Pietro, who I was really flip-flopping about. But then I remembered I've been working hard to put together a harvest festival area AND I had a plot that I'd mapped out near my festival area- and a clown for the festival sounded perfect!

I'm kind of the same way. I actually find island hopping to be fun at times, but there are some villagers I've gotten off here because I just wanted to ensure I'd get someone I liked. I remember one time I was like "I'm 100% gonna island hop" but then I couldn't resist checking the threads here. I told myself I wouldn't adopt a villager from someone else that day unless it was, like, Tangy.
...Guess who was literally the top thread when I checked? An ungifted Tangy 😂 No regrets. She now lives on my island with a yard befitting a popstar and a collection of fruit dresses.

I scanned amiibo cards for Punchy, kiki & Roscoe which I regret since it took away the fun I have looking for villagers and meeting new ones.

I found rosie on my second ticket. That was the best luck island hopping I’ve had so far. I found Merry earlier as my sixth or fifth villager but I forgot how many tickets it took to find her.

Sherb it took 13-15 tickets to find. I was not looking for him but took him when I saw him since he had recently become a dreamie. Finding him so soon messed up my plans on adding Lolly to my town though ><.

I don’t know how many tickets I’ve spent for Raymond. I had a stack or ticket starting off during one of my searches and spent the 116k NM i had as well. I ended up buying him from someone.

Still have yet to find Marshal/Lolly and Ankha but I’m hoping not to find them soon since I want to use my last two spots to cycle through villagers to meet and get their picture. Am reluctant to let Dom go eventually since he’s really cute and no amiibo for him, but he’s not a dreamie.

My island is still not complete as I seem to just find villagers that I eventually really like enough to be permies and then some that I...don’t. The most I’ve used has been 12 nmt before I found someone I liked/was intrigued by.

I gave up on mystery islands as a way to find dreamies within the first or second week of release after using only 10 NMTs cause I was in a hurry to complete my list of residents so that I could start planning where their houses would go. I kind of regret it a little cause mystery islands are a really sweet way to meet other villagers that you don't want on your island but still want to talk to, though I guess the campsite does this too. But after that I spent my NMTs on "buying" dreamies for less than it would have taken to find them myself, and then to complete my DIY collection so overall I'm pretty happy with my choice 😊

I wanna say over 450ish nmt until I bought them off nookazon cause I was getting desperate

I spent 124 tickets looking for Judy and 8 hours of my life. After this I swore never again and just purchase them now either via amiibo or through Nookazon!
yikes, that's super bad luck! i got judy randomly when looking for somebody else and decided to take her just to sell... should have been you who got her instead of me! lol

I found Whitney, Raymond, Lily, and Beau with NMTs. I rarely spent more than 20-30, but I think it helped that I was willing to compromise for some villagers (for example, I would've ideally wanted Diana as my snooty but I love Whitney as well and figured that was fine). I also didn't rely on NMTs to get all of them because I would have lost my mind.
