I was just wondering how many days does it take for a villager to ping you after you rejected the last ping. Phoebe just pinged me yesterday and today, Poppy pinged me. I didn't TT or anything. And cycling tutorials usually tell you to TT 3-4 days after a rejection. Is there a specific number of days or is it just random?

It's random, it can be anywhere from 1-7(?) days. In my experience it's usually at least 2-3 days but I've been pinged on consecutive days before.

Thanks for your reply :) I was getting worried because I will be going to college soon and I wouldn't be able to play everyday.

Yeah, someone different can ping you the next day. I've had that happen before. Guides telling you to TT 3-4 days after a ping are based on the theory that it takes around 4-5 days for a villager to be in boxes from the day they decide to leave.

It might go like this:

Day 1 - Villager A pings you. You rejected.
Day 2 - Villager B decides to leave.
Day 5 - Villager B is in boxes.

Theoretically it should be safe to TT to Day 4 (3 days) after you rejected Villager A and get a ping from Villager B on that day. However, it is always safer to only TT one day at a time.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see that you don't TT. I was trying to give you some details regarding the mechanics. XD

When a villager pings me that I want to keep I travel 6 days ahead and 6 days back then someone else pings me.

Thanks for the tip, actually, I do TT. I did in fact cycle some villagers out already :)

Thanks for the tip too :)

I think it's random. Without TTing, I've had a villager ask on one day and then another villager ask on the next day. I once asked a question related to this and someone who replied said that they had villagers ping them on the same day. This makes me think it's random, so anywhere between one day and a week is the most likely scenario. If you end up missing a ping, I wouldn't worry too much, because in my experience, you can usually stop villagers from moving out if you're not TTing. If you talk to them enough, they'll ask you if they really should go and you can tell them to stay.

If you want to be on the safe side when TTing, either TT day by day, or TT very forward ahead (at least 6-7 days) and then back. I personally prefer to use my 3DS clock to TT, and something that helps when TTing (especially if you're going far ahead) is starting with a new character first, then quit without saving after checking the map to see if anyone's missing. Just remember that when you TT back it always counts as one day forward, so if you tell a villager to move and they'll be gone in X days, TTing back to the initial date will make them go in X-1 day. Oh, and watch out for events, since they'll make villagers wait longer to ping you.

Hope that helps. :)

The same villager can ask to move again the next day.
Tutu tried to skip town two days in a row. Both times I stopped it.
