How many characters do you have?

And what do you do with them? Are they blank slates used for patterns? Did you make their houses different themes? Do you actively use them as well as your mayor? Did you give them little backstories and personalities? How many did you make?

When I get the game this weekend, I plan to have as many characters as possible so I can decorate all their houses different ways! I feel like one house is just not enough room for my hoardiness. XD I plan to make them all have personalities and stuff. C:

I have two other characters. I use them as storage. My main character carries all the paths I need so mainly storage. I'm boring lol

Corrie, not sure if you are going to plot reset or not but if you do, always keep one characters space open. That way, you'll have the spare villager to reset with if you end up with a villager you don't like or in a bleh place.

I started with Cyrus II and after a few days, added his brother Enceladus, for a laugh. About 3 weeks later, I added Neptune (Cy II's bro in law, as Cy II is married to his sister). Neptune was originally for plot resetting but when I saw how cute he came out, I had to keep him.

I like the extra characters so I can design their houses according to their personalities

I only have my lil mayor, but I had an extra character for a while ages ago for storage. But I ended up feeling guilty because I put no effort into this character in terms of designing their house and such so I deleted them eventually haha o//o I don't even remember what they looked like

It feels silly now that I'm saying it, but I genuinely felt bad for them lmao. They deserved better </3

I'm a massive hoarder....but I'm also really strange about having characters in my town who are basically invisible it wouldn't be so bad for me if maybe we could see these characters around town, like in dream towns.
But I do occasionally make a second character - called Link - when I'm trying out new paths and things.
Since I'm out of storage my items are now thrown on the beach....if I felt okay about using a second character permanently they would be great for storing my extras

I have 2 characters (excluding my mayor) whom I use on a regular basis :-D One of the players houses are fully furnished to match my town theme ^^ ...I needed somewhere to put all my rare furniture, lol. I also use my alt players to hold paths and patterns that I like. Overall, I am proud of the outcome of my town!

I have 1 extra character. Currently I use him to keep my villagers from destroying my landscaping and Katrina visits. He doesn't travel or come out to play much.

At the moment I only have one. In New Leaf Ive always only had my mayor in previous towns and never made other characters for some reason. For my current town I do plan to make at least one other character though

I only have 2 players secont player is my brother but he doesn't play the game. I plan to remove that secont player when I get a chance just need to clean that house.

i only have my mayor, i use the museum exhibits for storage. in my previous town i had a separate character that i just kept in a tent and i put their house near the campsite for a cute little camp grounds area though.

I've got three total. I really only have the other two for path space though, but they aren't exactly "blank slates" either. I wanted to put at least a little thought into their characters/houses and think I did a good enough job.

I actually hate having multiple characters in my towns.... it feels unnatural to me!

so I limit my patterns and designs to 10 only
