How many bells total have you spent on dreamies?

~38 mill? Whereabouts. A majority of that is Ankha who my sister paid 20 mill for. I think I only paid about 10 million of my own bells for villagers, my sister got filthy rich selling turnips so she helped me buy a lot of my villagers.

When I first joined the forums and learned that buying/selling villagers was a thing that was possible, I made it a rule for myself that I couldn't buy/trade for/be given a villager I intended to keep for myself. If it's too easy, it stops being fun.

I do occasionally buy villagers for my friends, though. I spent 3mil and some Gracie dresses for Erik, 25k for Wendy, Tia for 3mil, and maybe one or two others?

I use a self developed tactic to get dreamies in my own town, usually takes 1 real week to get all 10 and there is no need in other peoples towns.

Flora: I reset my town until I had her from the start, so she was free.
Frank: Had him as a random move in, so he was free
Molly: Traded her for Maple, so she was kinda free
Drake: Free from a cycler on Reddit
Tex: Bought him for 500k bells on Tumblr
Flo: Got her from a cycler on the Villager Trade Forums, she was free
Sparro: Got him from a cycler on Reddit, he was free, but I tipped 500k bells
Gladys: Got her for free on the Villager trade forums
Goose: Free from a cycler on the Villager Trade Forums
Amelia: Got her from Tumblr, from someone who was giving her away for free, I have them 500k as thanks for giving me my last dreamie.

So all in all 1.5mill in bells? 500k of which I actually had to pay for.
Granted none of my villagers were really top tier expect for Molly and Flora.

By contrast, I sold Marshal for 35mill at one point.

I've only spent 1 mil and that was on Carmen. The rest were either random move in, campsite resetting or generous people from here :3

Edit: now that I think about it, I did trade Ankha for marina. Does that count as an amount? Either way~

I don't buy villagers, I just feel as if it is wrong to buy/sell animals ( which will also be your friends). I have Marshall and if I didn't want him anymore I'd just give him to someone for free.

The money i've spent on villagers were from tier 1 and 2. The most i've spent on a tier 5 was like 100k

I've spent more than 100 million in cumulative bells for several Dreamies from Villager Trading Plaza. I started either in January or February. I eventually replenished that spent amount with my extra game copies and with buying/selling turnips.

The interesting question along with this thread is this:

On which Dreamy did you spend the greatest amount of bells?

(For me, it's Merengue.)
