How long was/is your longest lasting friendship?

About 13 years. We'd been friends since preschool and I developed feelings for her, came out to her, was briefly flirted with, and then ghosted. Tbh I still miss her a lot; she was my best friend and that's what I'll always miss most, not a potential romance.

It's just not right. I wish she'd come back and be your friend again. It seems very rare to find someone who is willing to be a friend who will invest time with you. So for your friend to just disappear like that, it's sad. I hope you've found a new best friend, or at least someone you can confide in.

That's kind of you to say, and while I do miss her, it's been about eight years since our friendship dropped off. Often when I think of her I just wind up coming to the conclusion that we're probably two different people now-- who even knows if we'd still be friends, you know? For instance I know she's married now. Maybe she'll have kids soon. I'm nowhere near that stage in my life.

we became friends after he found my lost cat when we were 11 and i’m still so grateful for that to this day.

we got distant due to school but still texted every now and then ;;

he died 3 years ago from cancer and i didn’t find out until recently :c

my longest lasting friendship is my neighbor - we started going to school together in kindergarten and stayed friends even through college. my closest longest lasting friendship is (who i'd consider my best friend) going on 8.5 years now. we met on an animal crossing forum before new leaf and stayed friends through new leaf, started skyping with a big group & eventually it whittled down to just the two of us. we haven't gone a day without talking in the last 8 years.

Mine is 7 years(?). I'm pretty sure 7 at least. We don't talk anymore, but when we did, we were amazing friends. We used to be neighbors and went to the same school, we fell out of touch about a year after she moved.

My longest friendships have only lasted 2 years (rip). First I had two best friends from kindergarten to the beginning of Grade 2, but one of them switched schools and one of them was moved up a grade, causing us to drift apart. Next up was my best friend that I made after switching schools, but I kinda ruined that friendship super badly after the end of Grade 4. And then, uh, yeah, kinda just friendless for the longest time there, which I blame myself for with my really horrible social base for the longest time (since there were people that I could've been friends with if I was just, idk, better, for the lack of a better term).

But, yeah, all that aside, my current longest friendship (with somebody online) has lasted for roughly a year and a half now, and it's continuing to go strong, which I'm happy about.

A bunch of online friends since July 2018.


As for irl friends. Well..... most of my friendships have drifted apart. I have another friend that I don’t hang out with often because they’re kinda rude and mistreat their younger sibling.

One of those friends I will call June. June and I were friends since toddlerhood. Our birthdays are very close (9th of April and 13th of April). Since then, she has pursued the dream of joining the track team, which she still does this day.

The other we will call Lena. Lena was an artist like myself, but because I did my school online starting in seventh grade, we began to drift apart as I was never at an actual school. (I’m doing my schoolwork and not being contacted by a truant officer). Lena now posts on Instagram (like I do but way less often due to actual school).

My online boyfriend and I just had our six month anniversary on the 21st of this month.

idk lol probably my discord friends who i've known for 2 years lol, i don't keep in touch with anyone i knew in hs lol, most of them are gone doing their own thing anyways. i made a few friends out at cc last year and i keep in touch with one still, he's pretty cool.

i don't really consider family members friends but if i did then it would be my cousins for sure lol
