I've recently moved in 3 new-ish villagers.
I had all 3 in my second town; I talked to them constantly. I really loved them all. When they asked to move, I thought they'd fit in great in my main so I moved 'em in. Maybe it's because I'm not used to new faces, but I don't talk to them as much. It's not that I don't want to. I just have a routine I guess and I'm going to have to include them all in it since I'd like them to stick around for a bit.

Does it take you a bit to warm-up to new faces?

Ooh yeah, almost always, even if they're "dreamies". Gladys and Mallary are two in particular whom it took me a few months to really warm up to, but Gladys is now my #1 favorite villager and Mallary's broken her way into my top 5 :) I need time to get to know my villagers!

It's pretty quick with me. I can usually tell right away if they're a good fit, or if they should keep their bags packed. Graham was an exception to that. Thought he was weird and creepy at first, then grew to like him a lot.

i feel as though it is normally quick with me, however there is always the possibility of growing to love someone. doesn't take more than two-three days. their house interiors also matter to me too so sometimes that's the tipping point ><

For me it depends on the personality type. With lazy, normal, peppy and cranky it takes about a week or two. With the rest it usually takes a lot longer.

Other than Marshal, I did not like most of my dreamies immediately. They were dreamies, of course, so I didn't want them to leave, but it took quite a while for me to truly warm up to them. My friend had wanted Stitches and I was almost willing to let him go, but now he's my second favorite dreamie^^.

It takes me weeks to warm up to villagers from other towns. It's always faster if they were a "natural" move in. Not sure why.

Yes, and sometimes I don't warm-up to them at all.
But there are some villagers that I immediately warm-up to, for instance, Freya moved into my town and called me a princess and that's when I knew she was my new favorite.

Depends. I usually warm up to my more initially unloved villagers in a month. If I don't, I tend to get rid of them.

But Timbra, she just wont leave.

Once I finish working on their houses/get them the right shirt. If they have a wacky/mismatched shirt and a messy house, I tend to talk to them less and appreciate them less. I think that makes me shallow.

I always need a while, yeah! In part because they tend to ghost around and be impossible to find the first few days and are never at home when I just want to see what their house is like, and in part because I have to incorporate them in my routine, like you. I walk all my paths every day and I need to add paths to their houses, and meet them when I'm on my paths.
I figure the AI makes them drift somewhat toward paths/places you run on often because after a little while all my villagers hand out close to my paths tho, so that works well.

Some are instant, like Peanut and Queenie, but others take time, like Ankha and Erik. I love them all in the end. :)

About 2 weeks. And that's regardless of what villager it is.

For me, it's generally immediately. Some took a little bit longer, but for the most part, I'm quick to warm up to them. :)

I'm a person of first viewings are final viewings but sometimes they kinda stick.
Genji is one who I keep flip flopping on but he's so adorable and I kinda like being called a "Ladybro". (that and his fanart doesn't help much on my sell him down the river side.)
Katt was another I decided to keep after warming up to her. Then she decided to leave with no signal after new years.
Finally Tammy is one to stay after I actually almost let her leave to the void. It wasn't her looks or anything, it was learning that her special talent was to "Staying positive" I decided to make her a permanent resident.

Usually it doesn't take any time. Erik was a strange one. I liked him in Pangola and Alpine, and I always intended him for Mirage. In Mirage, he just didn't seem to fit in. Over time, he did and now I like him as much as I ever did. Phoebe liked him immediately. She never has stopped talking about him all the time he's been here.
