I just reset, and my town is plain and boring. So,I think this is a great time to ask,how long did it take you to fill your town with flowers and pwps, where it looks nice?
It took me almost a year, because that wasn't a focus of the game for me at all. I played for about 9 months before coming online, mostly interacting with villagers, working on some badges and trying to fill out my catalog. I built a few PWPs, bred most of the hybrids and had a lot of fun. Really it was only after I leveled half my town to catch scorpions and tarantulas that I began to work on paths, flowers and town design. If I restarted today? I think I'd have the paths and flowers within a couple weeks, and I'd be working hard to get some good PWPs.
Still not done, either! I've had my newest town for about 2 months and it is coming along, but I need to get so many PWP's unlocked that it isn't funny. I almost have NO requests! Argh!
But even my older towns aren't really done yet. Two look decent, but I think none are really finished because I only focus on one at a time and go for villagers and badges and the Museum (tho that is still woefully unfinished) first. Then and only then do I turn my focus to my town's looks.
Until now, I guess. I really want to get Wolf looking good and I found out that I have no head for planning. I don't know what to do or where to put the rest of the PWP's if and when they come. I am absolutely abysmal at planning.
Someday I really need to hire someone or find a really patient soul to help me.
I restarted my game about 1 1/2 month ago, and I placed new paths withing a few weeks. I now finally cut down all the trees that were in the wrong place, and the PWP's are coming very slowly.
I'm very busy with getting my town full of tulips, but I only have about maybe 1/15th of my town full of them.
I have to say, I think it's part of the fun that it takes so long before your town is the beautiful thing you had in mind. I love seeing the progress.
My town isn't even remotely presentable. XD It is fairly new, though, so I guess that's to be expected? Right now I'm just figure out where I want to put PWPs so I don't ruin grass and waste time with hasty decisions. Someday~ someday my town will be lovely.
I'm still working on my way to it looking decent. There are fairly developed areas in my town but every once in a while I'd end up re-modeling it. Plus I've been cycling for villagers and just let the temporary villagers plop wherever they want so you can guess how presentable my town's looking now. :/
For me, it's going to determine how often/quickly I get public work projects unlocked. The only money I'm going to have too, is from either fishing or selling my perfect cherries (we're a self sufficient town here!), so it's not like I'm going to have millions and millions to spend on anything I want. Also, I'll only be having 1 tree a day available, so any landscaping could take some time too. I think it'll be fun seeing my town slowly come to life though
Probably in May or June, it started looking decent for me. It's a bit messed up, but I just got my 4th file after obtaining all dreamies, so I can dig up all those items to make it look really good.
Got it in March and it still isn't that great. But that is partly because I decided to ignore my town and focus on my house in the hope of giving my tasteless villagers time to suggest some halfway decent PWPs.
I've only cut down trees in my way, and it is only recently I started a small hybrid growing section in my top right corner. Thanks to the beautiful town ordinance I have fields of utterly random flowers slowly overtaking the town, sort of like a creeping terror.
