So, I got a new cartridge in January and have mostly been working on that town (Rancho) ever since. I also took a major break from everything for school, so I didn't play animal crossing at all for a few months there, but that's a different story.

I left Nowhere for 5 months --

nothing changed.

The last thing I did in the town was give Pietro to my friend, and after that, I literally didn't open the game again for 5 months; and the only noticeable difference in the town is that flowers have popped up where Pietro's house was (and only there, the whole town is covered in custom designs), and my hair is messy.

I even still have Marshall, who I was only ever keeping to sell on the forums.

What does one even DO with luck like this. Do I go play the lottery? Or have I used up all of my lifelong luck on a videogame, and will be cursed with bad luck for the rest of eternity? ... Or do I just clean up and update the dream address? (The last one, methinks).

This reminds me of how when I time traveled to the year 2050 in my old save, came back, and there were almost NO CHANGES AT ALL. The Beautiful Town ordinance stopped an abundance of weeds from growing and no one moved out either. (I did get a ping for a move out though)

I think it depends on your last move out too? Like no one moved out because the last time you played someone recently moved out. That's some great luck though.

I have read somewhere that when you stop the game after a villager moveout or when a villager pings you for a moveout and you stop, no more moveouts will happen until you open the game.

can someone confirm this? thanks :)

Yeah when someone moves out, or they ask to move out and you stop them, then save, no one else will move out until you load up your game again.

This happened to me too... I stopped playing for a near half year and came back... I am so happppy muffy and stitches are still there!

thank you. so people should be doing this before taking a hiatus

Yeah, honestly!! I know the cycling guides all say that as soon as someone moves out (theyre in boxes, not that they've left), you're safe to jump as far as you'd like -- but I wonder if its different for artificial time changes ie time traveling.

I do this every time I want to take a break. Its because when a villager asks to move and you stop them, it won't be until the next day someone else will be thinking of moving. So if you save and quit after telling that village not to move and load your game up however many weeks later, no one will have left because no one will have thought to want to move.

I have never lost a villager in both my towns, and I alternate which one I want to play. When I want to switch, just wait for the moving ping, say no and save and quit. Everyone will still be there when I go back again (:
