How have you set up your villagers houses?

I have no idea what I'm going to do about that. I've made a new town but I can't choose a map yet because I don't know how the houses will be placed. Did you do it in a straight line? Scattered across the town? In random places? Pictures of your map would be good too so I could get some ideas C:

People usually have villagers in straight lines because they plot reset for them. Is that what you mean?

I usually have them all over the place, but if a villager moves out and a new one moves in, I try to get them in the same spot as the old one.

I'm not patient enough for straight lines, though it looks pretty appealing. my villagers are usually scattered but a scatter that makes sense?
