I completed the fossil exhibit recently, and I never really considered buying any (although I did do some fossil trades here and there). I am trying to make the fossil models as well, but I'm not really in a rush for that.

I got all my fossil my self, with painstaking effort I fully completed the fossil room. Having a shop to sell fossils is a great idea! Help those people who still haven't completed theirs and take that load off their backs! So I guess you should do it to help those people who need fossils for cyrus' tiny fossil displays for people who need them for the museum. It also makes me mad that when you finish the fossils Blathers only says great job or something like that, and not give you a prize after that pain staking effort! It's terrible. Well I guess the other human villagers wouldn't get the item though, I guess that makes sense in a way, well the town could have celebrated instead of a short good job and then nothing happens, Blathers please it was hard work getting those fossils at least make a celebration or some thing.

I had lots of help from friends who had theirs done as well. I found buying the unidentified fossils faster than actually trading for the ones I needed because there are so many people could have! Though asking for the specific ones seemed to go fairly well, I received about 6 that way The last few seem so hard to get! so definitely ask for help 
Hopefully you are able to get them from people fast. I know some people just identify then sell to retail so shouldn't be too hard, mainly cyclers! (Maybe one will let you dig theirs up?). Good luck!

I completed my main towns fossil collection last year and I've almost completed my second towns collection. I never brought any fossils but I'm sure some people would like the option to buy ones they were missing.
I have all the fossils, it reminds me of kyle because kyle left my town along time ago and i want him back in my town. i am every day thinking of restarting because kyle left my town and is gone now and i wish he is back in my town and i wish so mush that i cry every day and now im really cool. kyle cmoe back i cry for you. you know he is a cool villager because he is like a german shpe shepparhd and is so sool cool and he has so mych much rare furniture that i cry that it i want it but he no there any more. i want to restart my town and get hime but i don't know i f a i really want to because he is n ot not good enought to reset my beautiful town with. i visit dreams adress dress that have him a nd the think is i crys every time that is is it i fon't care about you all i care about is that kyle is back in my town and that is it.

finished 98% of my fossil part of the museum by myself, one fossil got donated to me and the last one i bought because i was looking for a month for the last fossil and i got lazy haha.

My fossil collection is only at about 3/4 in my town of Fishbowl, thanks mainly to a long period of inactivity. It's growing steadily though!
I personally wouldn't want to buy fossils here - as it is possible to complete the collection within one's own game, that's what I'd like to do, without any help.
I typically only purchase items on TBT that I can't obtain in my own game in any way, such as past DLC items. Still, I'm sure that there are many players who would enjoy the ability to buy fossils that they're missing - be it many or just a few.
Sure, many longtime players have complete collections... but many people restart their towns! XD

The fossil part of the museum was my first completed exhibition and it only took me a few months. It`s not that difficult to complete it without trading, but the last few fossils are the hardest to find of course. Personally I wouldn?t want to trade for fossils because I can find them by myself.

I finished my fossil collection pretty early in the game. I played every single day and I didn't get a lot of doubles so I got to donate a fossil almost every day. I guess I was pretty lucky.
I see quite a lot of people selling (and buying) fossils actually. Expecially the last ones are hard to find, so I think it helps a lot if other players could help you finish your collection.
I think it's a shame there's no badge for digging up fossils (I like to collect all the badges) or other kind of award for collecting all the fossils in the game, apart from finishing the fossil museum exhibit. It's still pretty neat, though.

A fossil shop would be a fantastic idea, considering how hard it is to get one or two missing fossils when they're the only ones that you have left! I have all of the fossils but for one, and at this point I've kind of given up on digging up fossils every day because it's such a pain to have them examined. When I'm motivated to complete that room, I'll start digging up fossils again, but until then I'd loooove a fossil shop!
