How does the "add to ignore list" feature work?

If I add someone to that list, do I just not see their posts and threads?

Their posts will be "spoilered", so you don't see their icons or anything. Just imagine my post right now, but all you see is a brown bar with the words "Ignored Post" and "Click to Unhide".

If you come across one of their posts or messages, it'll be hidden, but you can click "show" to see it. I'm not sure if it blocks PMs or VMs from that person though.

I'd like to add that the person can't PM or VM you, which is quite cool if you don't like a person, and don't want them to contact you.

No, they can VM you. It shows up hidden on your profile but you can click on it to see their message.

They can still VM and PM you. You just won't see their PM(s) and they won't be notified that you blocked them if they do PM you. Block persons VMs and posts around the forum will be blocked.

And if the ignored person is quoted in a post you will see their remark, but that is unavoidable, I suppose. But I do have one member on Ignore and it is SWEEEET. Just go to their profile page and select "Ignore." Then yes, their posts are spoilered and it says something like "This member's post is hidden because they are on your Ignore List," and then asks if you want to remove them from Ignore.

It's pretty straightforward.

I wish it was different. The point of blocking someone is to not receive any notification of them contacting you. At least thats how I feel. I don't like even seeing their "hidden" posts. :T
