How does the first campsite villager work?

After playing on my island, my sister got a Switch Lite and her own copy of the game. This made me see an... opportunity. After asking, she's given me permission to fiddle with her campsite when she first gets a camper.

The first villager at the campsite is usually smug, if I'm not incorrect. That means there's a pretty high chance of getting Raymond or another villager that I want. But, how exactly does that work?

Is it possible to reset and change up the villager there? If that's the case, how exactly do you reset? I've never done it. Do I just turn exit the game while I'm in the tent?

Thanks for any help.

Once you boot up the game for the day your first campsite villager is locked in and CANNOT be changed. If you wait until the next day to see if you'll get another villager, it's just a waste of time because the same villager will just come back.

Unfortunately your first campsite villager is set in stone and there's no way to reset for a specific villager due to autosave.

Bummer, but makes sense!
