i stopped playing ACNL for a long time and just got back into it and was wondering how the update changed plot resetting specifics.
is it true that villagers won't move on tiles you display on the ground? from what i'm getting, they'll still try to move over trees and flowers, but you can put tiles in each 3x3 section to stop their house from going there.
i used to put street lamps everywhere to prevent villagers from moving into my orchards/future PWP areas.
also... any other tips for plot resetting after the amiibo update would be appreciated cuz i'm out of the loop lol. links to threads or posts or anything would be AWESOME, all my tabs are trying to figure out how this works again djshfjgjd. thank you!

Yes, villager now will not move on top of path patterns - unless there's no spot available without them. Just block off areas you don't want them to move, and you'll be fine.

Plot resetting also still works, just like before the update - and you can do that if you are not confident that you blocked the places you wanted to.

Yes that's correct.

They won't move onto paths, unless there's no other spot available. I keep hearing some members saying, there's no chance they would move onto paths, unless you remove a path. Meaning, they would move the next day or so. But that is completely debatable, as some experienced villagers moving onto paths.

It could happen when a pwp is blocking the space.
Plot resetting is still essential due to this. Also, as there are times you might miss a 3x3 section, especially around trees/flowers.

oh, the fact that they might move in on paths if something goes haywire isn't something i've heard of yet. ill keep that in mind (and probably plot reset no matter what since i get so anxious). thank you!

afaik plot resetting has been made easier. villagers cant move onto the land where theres patterns.

This is such a progress. I noticed that villagers wouldn't move onto my paths but I didnt know why. Interesting! Looks like I should lay down some paths immidiately then around my town ( I just started a new town).
