How does Club Tortimer work to go on tours with people you know?

I want to go on island tours with friends to get the obnoxious medal badge, but I'm not sure how to do Club Tortimer with friends instead of randoms. Any help?

You don't need Club Tortimer to play with friends. Just have your friends go with you to the island.

Yeah, if you wanna go to the island with people you know it's best to invite them to your town and they can come with you to your private island.
