How do you use QR codes?

I just unlocked the sewing machine today and can't figure out how to take a picture of the QR code I want to use. Could someone please help me out? I've tried googling it but the explanations I've found don't say how to actually do it. I get I need to take a picture of the QR code, but how do I do that?

Sorry, I'm dumb... but I really need help!!

Press A in front of the sewing machine and select read qr code.

You have to talk to Sable for ten days straight and unlock the sewing machine. Then just stand in front of the machine and press a and Sable will ask you if you'd like to use it.

Click 'scan a QR code' and the 3DS camera will open up.

Just match up the QR code box to box and it'll capture the image on it's own.

Try moving the camera backwards, matching the 4 small squares on the corner with the ones on the QR code. It should automatically detect the code if you do it correctly.

Yes it can read it from anywhere as long as it is clear and their right way up.

Okay, thanks you guys! I feel stupid for not realizing that, lol. I just didn't think it would recognize the QR code that way.
