I've always said it ?-chi. But I know as a kid, I would have said "ucky." Because it would be funny to me and I'm perpetually about 6 years old in my head. ^_~

I used to pronounce it "yoo-chee" until I learned that the actual pronunciation was "oo-chee." Since then, that's how I've been pronouncing it.

The correct pronunciation is うち. This sounds like "ooh-chee" (long "o" sound).

Anyone who pronounces it differently is a dingus.

Well, I'm not planning to change how I pronounce it any time soon .. It sits better with me when I pronounce it with the y at the beginning..
