I know it's meant to be a play on duck pate (paah-tay), but I've always pronounced it phonetically (payt) because it doesn't have an accent mark.

I just think it's so.... sinister if it's like the food, because it's made of duck liver!! poor baby
 
I assume it's pronounced like it's spelled since it's a common name
 
I always thought it was 'payte' as in bald. Because of that I always thought her 'hair' was actually her scalp.

I just looked up what her name in other languages is and her French name is Terrine, so that points to her name actually being Pat?!
 
I read it and say it as Pat?, but figured they meant for it to be Pate (like Plate) since they didn't add the accent mark! :P
