Most of my friends pronounce it like I do- meh-ren-gey but some people pronounce it just like the dessert.

I pronounce it like the dessert. I don't see why one would pronounce it differently, seeing as it is what she was named after.

It's pronounced mur-ang.
If its pronounced like that that that's what i'll say. I used to call her Mere-en-jay before I realized what she was actually pronounced as, which certainly isn't today.

Off Topic, but Fun Fact:

Did you know I nicknamed Slurpuff after this NL villager in Pokemon Y?

I pronounce it like the dessert, but I've always questioned it because it's spelled like the dance.

Dessert: (Mer-eng)

Dance (Mer-en-gay)

I pronounce it like the Spanish word, so 'mer-en-gay'. If her name was spelled 'meringue', then I'd pronounce it like the dessert, which is probably how you're supposed to say her name anyway seeing as she's a cake rhino :P

Seeing how she's inspired by desserts, I always pernouced it like the dessert. I just realized now though that it's spelt differently haha
