Mine's realistic as well! My main room is the living room, upstairs is the bedroom, and I'm going to have my office, bathroom, picture display room (once villagers actually give me their pictures TT v TT) and downstairs kitchen!
currently,,, my house is such a mess (
i'm still working on upgrades, and i honestly haven't even started planning out my house~~
i'm thinking of making it some sort of onsen or bathhouse, as my island is very heavily ghibli inspired, but on the other hand it could be a really cute totoro style home!
i guess i'll just have to wait until i've made my decision, but i def need to start working on my house now!
It mostly just depends what the house is themed for.
If a regular house then I like to keep it realistic (bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, etc). If it's a temple I like to add courtyards/garden rooms. If restaurant I like to theme different eating areas/styles with the rooms.
I'm planning a more eerie dark town so some of those houses will definitely be on the more untraditional creative side and not the average normal house.
I definitely like to kind of keep the same theme for one house though meaning restaurant will be fully restaurant themed throughout and so forth.
I prefer to go more realistic with some horticulture or laboratory elements with it.
Depending on what future updates offer, maybe more fantasy elements mixed in eventually.
My house is realistic but I try and give every room a different vibe like the living room is kinda dark and very red and I’m tryna make it feel fancy, my kitchen is brownish/orange and has this nice cottage core and sunny vibe, my bathroom has cool colors which I think fit perfectly with a relaxing vibe, and as for my room it’s colorful and I’m just tryna make it resemble what I like
i have 2 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a weird back room i don’t really know what to do with lol. i don’t really like to have more “realistic” rooms, but a lot of the available furniture is kind of leaning towards that, so i feel like i’ve been making more realistic rooms lol.
i still will never make a bathroom though. i have a golden toilet on my island so that ticks that box
I always loved the idea of realistically decorating a house in NL/NH but the dang HHA score system makes me feel pressured to have a bed/lamp/table/chair/etc. from the same set in every room. In NL it was like almost every set was designed to be a bedroom, but not a kitchen or bathroom or living room. I wish they would rework the scoring system and not make every set include a bed. It was annoying feeling like every room needed a bed or it was incomplete
ANYWAY my main house is an all-red theme, with a living room, 3 bedrooms, an upstairs diner and a downstairs laundromat.
My secondary character house is a Stargate SG-1/Sci-fi theme, which only has 1 bedroom. Then there's a lab and.. the rest is hard to explain.
In New Leaf, I went with the Trendy theme so I think every room was a bedroom
My main house in normal, though I did make a second character's house with the intention to make it themed as a school. Unfortunately, I then realized that there isn't really enough item variety to make the kind of school I wanted, so right now it's just sitting empty, filled with my spare DIYs. Oops...
