How do you plot reset?

Wait until the next day, or TT to 5:58 am in the next morning. Save and quit. Wait 2-3 minutes and make a new character, it should be past or at 6 am! Look around for the plot. If they are in a bad spot, click the start button and close the game and re-load. The game is already saved so keep making new characters until they are in the right spot and then save the character with Isabelle! c:
do they move in the very next day? Or is it like 2-3 days after?
Campers move in 1-4(?) days and people you invite set up ropes the day after you invite them. I don't even bother with going to 5:58 am. TT to the next day at anytime and make sure you start a new save file. I've never not been able to get a plot to move by skipping the 5:58 thing.

Drexyia, the 5:58 thing is if you change the clock via Isabelle. I used to use the 3DS clock, but now I do the 5:58 thing. To the OP, note what time, according to the game, that you save when you like the plot. If you don't play again until AFTER that time (and have Isabelle change to the actual time), the game will not count it as TT at all. I do this all the time with camper resetting and, yesterday, plot resetting for Winnie.
