How do you make friends?

So I've been on this forum for awhile now and I've noticed that a lot of people have 20-30 friends but I on the other hand only have 1. I have a lot of stuff and I don't have a reason for stealing or destroying things yet people are so cautious when I come over. I even will give extra bells or hybrids if I'm in a good mood. Sooo whyyyy?

I feel so lonely so how do I make friends and who wants to be my friend?

awww don't feel lonely! we can be friends everyone's always a little cautious when it comes to strangers visiting their towns, don't take it personally! you just gotta show interest in getting to know people and talk to everyone, and naturally you'll meet a lot of new people on the forum c:

Thank you, the thing is I have a lot of friends irl but none play acnl and so they have no need to be on this forum and it feels so different compared to the real world.
