Im having VERY few items (nooks final upgrade tomorrow), and I just dont understand how I’m supposed to get enough items to start decorating? How do you get it?
Craft it, shoot down balloons, shake trees and visit mystery islands. There you can get another furniture item from trees and many times another DYI bottle on the beach..
You can also by stuff with nook miles or the online shop and have them mailed to your home. 5 Items can be purchased and mailed per day.
Make a list of what you would like, then post a thread in Nook's Cranny, asking people if you can catalogue their furniture. If you pick up and drop someone else's furniture, it shows on the Nook Shopping app in Resident Services, and you can mail order 5 items a day.
Cataloging what you have and doing trades for people's wishlist items seems to be the easiest to get a lot of furniture at once.
Otherwise, shake trees and buy whatever you can? I visit my friends a lot and ask to shop at their shops since different islands have different colours of things... and I'm a hopeless collector haha
I think if you're seeing people posting houses with complete furniture sets etc online it's most likely from trading (or less likely, from excessive tting)
it ain't easy to get furniture that matches with only 5 random items in store a day so usually trading is the way to go if you wanna get them quick. there are a lot of websites (such as villagerdb or nookazon) which have full lists of every item, so browsing through that and trading for them on here is the best way to go if you have switch online
I traded for a lot early on, I made a wishlist and setup a shop on the boards. Always fun trading for furniture!! especially with all the color variations in game now!
make sure that you're finding your daily furniture item in the trees and shooting down every balloon you see! i've gotten some of my best items this way (i shot down a system kitchen???)
