What are other people doing with villagers they won't want anymore on their islands and why?

I've been trying to give them away here on tbt while trying to sell or give them away elsewhere. I only voided a few villagers that I know I'll have trouble find adopters (Celia, Midge, Tank). But now I think I'm just going to sell/giveaway on discord or just void them. I'm just impatience and it seems like there's not a lot of people looking villagers on TBT now.

Honestly I just void them unless it’s a popular villager or one that doesn’t have an amiibo, in which case I’d give them away. I cycle villagers often because I collect photos, and I’m impatient and don’t wanna wait for anyone. I do feel kinda bad when I send them packing to the void, though.

The last two times a villager has moved out, I ended up voiding both of them (Pierce and Snake) after posting on TBT to give them away. Perhaps it was because both were gifted. Perhaps it just wasn't good timing. I felt so bad that someone was looking for Snake (they didn't mind that he wasn't original), but he wasn't yet in boxes when they had an empty plot (I don't time-travel). :(

Normally just void, not really into the selling villagers business.

Frankly speaking, villager management is the worst feature of Animal Crossing. (I do get their reasons of why the design choices though.)

I usually use the Amiibo method to get rid of them. Most of them went to the void because no one wants to adopt them. Honestly, at this stage, most of the players here already got the villagers they want. I also tend to run with bad trades. So, I am just gonna give them away without thinking of profitability. (I know it's a waste. But I don't want those headaches.)

I don't talk to them and let them move out on their own using the thinking bubble method (not sure if that changed after the update lol), or remove them through an amiibo card. Hopefully the welcome amiibo update villagers from NL will come back so I can use it more often lol

Yeah. Some of my favorites aren't that popular and no one wanted them. One person who did want them completely ghosted me. This was before I started time traveling so it didn't matter that much to me.

I usually have the opposite problem where I have a villager in boxes and person who wants them don't time travel or they need to get an empty plot and it takes them forever to get one because they want to keep most of their villagers. Getting the bubble to land on a certain villager takes forever.

I even find giveaway to be a headache because someone can just take forever to get an empty plot or just disappear without telling you or not be online when it's time to for them to pick up the villagers. I have a few amiibos but I rather get a move out so I can villager hunt.

If you get a villager who just moved in, is it possible to move them out with the amiibo card? I have a couple of friends who share an island together and they want Billy to leave, but he won't leave.

The second scenario must be Murphy's law at work. It's definitely a lot easier for me to be okay with letting go whoever ends up having the thought bubble when the player doesn't really have "permanent" villagers (more or less the state I'm in now, though there are some I would prefer to keep around for the sake of getting DIY recipes).

I can understand that giving them away can become an issue too. Since you're initiating it, it's not your obligation to "chase" them. If they missed the appointment, it's their loss. But I do get that you want those villagers to have a nice new home.

Amiibo in a new one.

I would never buy a villager, from here or anwhere else.

I usually post here and on a few discord servers, and whoever can pick them up the fastest can have them for free. It always makes me sad when no one wants them and I have to void them though (looking at my hams flurry and hamlet, sorry I couldn't find homes for you guys), but I try my best!

if i can’t see any interest for the villager, i’ll void them, but if they’re on the more popular side/i’ve seen someone showing interest in having that villager, that’s when i’ll sell them or trade them off but otherwise, most of my villagers have unfortunately gone to the void >_<

I usually put them up on Nookazon if they are decent or I void them. I have given them away for free to people who want them before too.

i amiibo in a lot of my villagers early on to yeet the ones i didn't want into oblivion. except the oblivion actually ended up having a hole and those villagers found their ways onto my friends' islands instead lol. oops

You just sounded like my friend there. She gave me Stinky and Queenie. :ROFLMAO:

I TT'd to cycle out a lot of unwanteds in the beginning to trade/buy dreamies of mine.. but most of them got voided if no one from the Nookazon discord wanted to take themmmm, only sold 2 villagers and that's cause popular, rest of them have been free or just off to the void lol

I plan on at least trying to get them adopted even if they're unpopular. Back in NL there were unpopular villagers I wanted and finding them was really difficult because people just voided them. :( I want to give people a chance to get the villagers to want, at least.

That said, I'm not expecting to have much luck getting them adopted. I recently posted about some villagers I plan on moving out and even though it included a somewhat popular villager (Bob, the other two are Lucha and Buck) there were no takers. At least things are more chill than they were when NL was still new-ish and people absolutely didn't want to trade with anyone who had villagers in their void, that got kind of stressful.
