How do you decide when to let go of a villager?

Ahnka, Skye, Rosie, and tangy are my favorites. Tangy I wouldn't let go yet however Rosie Skye and Ahnka I told myself I'd let move once I got their pictures yet I have multiple pictures of all of them and I stil decline their requests. Haha. How do you let go of your favorite villagers?

I never let go any of my dreamies unless they're in a bad spot. Unfortunate but it happens.

but, uh, before that decision was made, i just took a few months to decide whether to keep them or not. sometimes it doesn't take that long, though. as soon as i saw chester, i swore he would stay in my town forever.

and that is how the bear cub madness started
just kidding. it started with pudge. he was one of my original villagers but he moved out after i was absent for too long. that's, uh, that's the backstory

Right now, I don't have any dreamies, but I also want to explore different villagers in my town before any of my dreamies end up moving to my town soon. To answer your question, I guess whenever you feel ready to let them go, one of the ways can be after you've interacted with them for a good amount of time helped them do tasks ectt.. and gotten their picture as well

Many of my villagers weren't "dreamies", but they're all staying forever.

My towns are stasis cubes. (Kudos to anyone who gets that reference...)

But before that, I decided on when to let them go by how long they've been in the town, if I've gotten their pic, and usually by how any times they ask to move and eventually I was just like, BAI.

I don't know really. If they ping me and my gut reaction is a big "NOOOOOO" then obviously I'm not going to let them go. If my reaction's more muted and I find that I don't mind, then I'll probably let them leave and imagine that they're going on another adventure (well now that HHD is out I can pretend that they're living in that town haha).

Sometimes, I just find a new favorite one, and want to let a villager go in the hopes that the new one I like will come to my campsite or move in. I'm letting Lucky go to make room for (hopefully) Tom, Lolly or Kidcat.

If I don't have any kind of feeling for them either way I'll usually let them go. Especially lately, I want to experience and meet more villagers.

I want to get all the villager pics so once I have their picture then I let them go. It doesn't make it any easier if it's someone I adore though.
