I just take the hit. there's usually no real hit anyway seeing as i have beautiful town enacted. if a villager moves on top of a damn field or a fave moves out, i'll be a little peeved but like it's the nature of the game isnt it?
I normally just take the hit. I really don't like time traveling anymore and it always makes me feel like I messed up my game. So I technically avoid it at all costs. Plus, I really love playing my game the natural way, so if a villager moves out, I'm fine with it and accept it for the way it is. I actually like it when new villagers move in anyways and I don't mind when favorite ones move away too. So yeah, I just take whatever comes to me or what happens.
If its less than a month and a half, I just accept the fact that one of my villagers may have moved out and I'll have some weeding to do. If its over a month and a half, I restart.
Time traveling little by little is the best solution. I didn't know this so I time-traveled ten days and my favorite villager left. Now I have to go through the torturous 16-villager cycle to get Pecan back.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so whenever I take a break for more than a week, I restart. The result is that I've never really built up a decent town before abandoning it again. Since the release date, I've just been restarting the game and playing for two weeks, then taking a 6 month break and start over again. It's very annoying but I have no choice..
Oh, and I hate TT so I've never tried that before in this game. Not planning on doing it either.
Depends on the situation, but most of the time, I just took the hit. Honestly, I time travel a lot and lost so many villagers because of this, but I could deal with it. Otherwise, if I took a longer break, I just restarted my town and made a new one.
