So I’m always terrible when I try to put stuff for sale and I usually ask the buyers to offer a price, but I can’t tell if people are lowballing or not. I’m trying to make a profit, but I don’t want to sound greedy. I guess I’m just too nice lol. So how do you determine your sale prices when you sell things on here? I try to compare prices on nookazon but the prices vary so much on there, idk what is a good deal or who is being greedy. I’m not the best at explaining things thru text due to a mental handicap so I hope you guys understand what I’m trying to say. :)

For example, if I’m selling 50 star fragments, how much do I price it if I don’t want to sound greedy, but I want to make a decent profit, if you know what I mean.

I usually just check other threads to see how much they’re selling for and decide if I want to go a bit lower or higher than the going rate. Don’t be afraid to offer it at a bit higher price if you feel it’s worth more since there are still people who will buy it if they really want the item. I’ve sold DIYs for 1NMT that others will buy at 5NMT. It just depends on how active the forum is and how visible your thread is.

haven't done a ton of trades, as I don't have a lot to sell, but I've had good luck with just deciding what in particular I want, then leaving it up to the other people how much to give (within reason). So if I need nmt, I'll just say that's what I'm looking for, and take however many of those are offered. Some people go low, some high, it all seems to even out in the end.

You could always decide what minimum you would accept for your items and make it clear, or put things out for auction with set minimum, maybe getting higher bids.

I do like to find equal trades if the buyer has something I can't buy on my island, like trading equal value nook miles items for colors my island doesn't have. Or equal value nmt.

If I'm not selling anything in particular, just opening up island for high turnip prices, I just say tips appreciated but not required. I've had people come and not tip, totally fine, and then people come and tip way more than I would have ever asked for. Seems to work itself out.

I guess it depends on what in particular you would be selling.

I usually just throw extra stuff in for no reason. I should just be looking at the store price and selling them for a few Bells lower.

I tend to search for what I'm selling and see what other people have been offering. I'm also really bad with pricing things and I find that helps me get an idea of what people are willing to pay more than what I'm wanting to get.

I don't believe in getting "lowballed". It really depends on how much you value what you're selling and how much effort you put into getting those items. If you think an item is worth 1NMT each then it shouldnt matter to you if others sell for much higher. Besides, an obvious way to know if you're charging too much is if no one buys your stuff.

I have some ideas of what prices are. I don't mind getting some low offers when I previously had sale where someone paid way over the market value. I'm at the point where I'm selling stuff for people to get their wishlist items and I just want something in return for keeping the items on my island instead of trashing them.

I basically give things away at this point, I'm both too impatient and I just like helping people. I've probably been taken advantage of a few times but that's the price of convenience :')

Yeah! I feel this. I already completed my art gallery and fossils, and honestly, this were the only thing I did active looking for and selling business. Yet I am so tired from art trade honestly, that when I get a valuable statue or fake, I just sell it for really low so I can have someone pick it up in *minutes*.

I have I think 100 nmt surpluses at any given point honestly bc all I do in AC is talk to villagers and maybe buy form nook. thats it. ahahah But I do remember feeling very annoyed when I was searching for deals that everything was overpriced. so me offering a lower priced item makes me content that at least, if I would meet someone like me, I wouldn't make me upset. ahahah

I overpaid some of my catalog trades in the past when starting out. I am still thankful to those players though!

After I set up my own catalog shop, I decided to offer the lowest prices. I really wanna do a giveaway but it's going to eat up my spare time. So I kinda want a small compensation, at least.

i look at other threads for comparison. i’ll search for threads/shops that have offered what i’m planning to sell and look at how much they were able to get and go from there - i also leave an option for negotiation just in case the pricing has changed ;u;

Most of the time I sell things I have sort of a name-your-price thing, and I'll almost always just take the first offer I get. I don't really know a lot about the animal crossing economy, or popular items/clothing, so it's easiest to just let customers decide how much they want to pay. I know that might let others take advantage of me, but I don't mind that much honestly

Definitely look at what others are charging for the items and pitch your prices accordingly.

I just completed my art gallery by trading on here and the variety in prices between different sellers is massive.

Some people clearly don't shop around, as I've seen people pay 160 TBTs for a wild painting set when the same thing was available for 80 TBTs two threads further down the page, but I know that I found certain sellers who had fair pricing and were easy to trade with, so they became my go-to sellers. I still look out to see what else they're selling, as I had such good experiences with them.

I guess ultimately you just need to feel comfortable with your own prices.
