I've recently bought a bunch of rose hybrids and I'm confused about what to do with them. With that said, I'm wondering how you go about selecting and arranging your flowers. I'm trying to figure out a way to make my town prettier but I'm not sure where to start with the flowers.

Should I go with a specific type? Colours? Any special chromatic arrangements?

Help/guidance appreciated.

Hmm well if you went to breed flowers together I would put them in pairs. For example, put a white rose and red rose together and water them both, and you'll have a chance of getting a pink rose the next day. I do it a lot and it's pretty easy. When you do get the hybrids they're just nice for decoration (sometime can be used for breeding) since they're brighter and have more captivating colours. You can put them around houses or make a flower patch, or if you have paths place them along the edges of your paths to make it prettier. XD

Bushes or flowers along the side of paths? Or both?

Argh I see other people's beautiful towns and I get so confused. No design sense.

An omg man I'm the same lol don't worry, I've seen so many beautiful towns and I'm here like trying my best but my town is literally like trash compared to others haha. And hmm I haven't tried bushes actually, I don't usually buy them but bushes might work along the paths, I'd say it's worth a shot. :)

I know how you must feel, my town doesn't look good either xD

I am going for a natural look so I scatter them a bit randomly, with thicker patches in areas where I want it to look less groomed. Then a few going out from there. The north half of my island is all white/light purple/dk purple/yellow, and the south half is done in white/orange/black flowers. I like the way it looks to have a color scheme but for the natural look I intermingle different flower types. ^^ It has a lot to do with what you want your town to look like on the whole and your personal preference, of course!

if you want a girly theme, pink and purple roses look amazing together as well as pink & white. if you want more of a less-girly or darker theme, there are a lot of combinations for that, which i'll list below
- black & gold
- black & purple
- black & white
- blue & white
- blue & purple
- black & pink
this works for other hybrids as well

i personally just do a color pattern with my flowers and i mix it up throughout my town (i.e. pink, purple, pink, purple, pink and so on) but try not to use the same hyrbirds & colors throughout your whole town. ive done that at some point and it looks pretty boring to have the same hyrbirds everywhere. if you have paths, it'll be easier because you'll most likely have different sections throughout your town divided by the paths. if you have extra hybrids laying around, then you can always outline your town with them in a pattern if that makes sense. i hate it when flowers look out of place, so everything in my town is in an organized pattern to make it look neater. to touch up your town, outline your paths (if you have any) with two bushes at a time and a hybrids between every two. it makes the twelve row rule less stressful and you'll be using up less bushes & spending less cash on them. (ex: bush, bush, flower. bush, bush, flower)

I like doing checkerboard or interesting designs of different flowers! varying species and colors mixed together whatever you think look good! check out my DA for Riften... I have lots of different ideas going on!

I usually arrange flowers next to pathways and near PWP.

Here are some common patters I use when I make rows. I like using at least two different types of flowers along pathways to add a bit of depth.

=____ is the pathway
@ are roses
x are smaller flower like pansies
U are tulips

x x x x x x x x x x x x x
@@@@@@@@@@@@
===============
===============
@@@@@@@@@@@@
x x x x x x x x x x x x x

Or something similar but with tulips and pansies instead
x x x x x x x x x x x x x
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
===============
===============
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
x x x x x x x x x x x x x

Sometimes I do something like this with bushes and trees
B are bushes
T are trees

@B@T@B@T@B@T@B@
x x x x x x x x x x x x x
===============
===============
x x x x x x x x x x x x x
@B@T@B@T@B@T@B@

Hopefully those make well enough sense. >.<

I like to do alternating colors. Since mine is more of a girly fairy town theme, I have pink and white roses alternating in some parts of my town while other parts have pink and white carnations alternating.
