I'm curious because of the lack of proper labels in the game, only ABC/symbols on
secret storage
I'm pretty bad at it especially when it comes to furniture! Arggh. Right now I have clothes in A, tools/handhelds in B, nothing in C (saved for trades). Then furniture kind of-ish by series in the symbols drawers, plant furniture, and some hybrids.
I don't really have specific categories for each letter, it's more like I put things in order from what I choose. Like in A I have dresses, then when all the dresses are done I have the shirts, pants, socks, shoes, hats, and then I move on to handhelds or tools then just miscellaneous items that I definitely want to keep. The last 2 letters are a bit of a mess, I may have to clean out soon. A is more organized.
Mine is similar to Becca's. In my storage, I start with dresses then shirts, skirts, socks, shoes, hats, and umbrellas and wetsuit. Oh yeah, each of those is in alphabetical order.
My secret storage is more hodgpodge (not alphabetical), but starts with furniture, then wallpaper and rugs. In the last "drawer", I have one each of ores, a "page" of medicine, some extra stationary, baskets of fruit.
My tools I keep in letters, mainly in order of how often I use them. I also try to keep a set of stationary with me, so I can always write a letter and pop a piece of furniture/fruit/gift into it.
I put "keepers" in A (sets I'm collecting and such) and stuff I'm gonna sell without even looking in B. Tools and other things I want to pull out fast are in A1, clothes in A2, furniture in A3... so far C is for things I need very infrequently, like medicine and fireworks.
For my secret storage I started off by categorising them by orderable / unorderable / welcome amiibo / customised but now it's just chaos again. My closet storage is basically stuff I want to transfer to my 2nd town. I have to wait until my friend is available so she can be my transfer town and it just slowly fills up, mostly with bushes, flowers and random items with no real order to them.
Now it's chaos but I used to be organized. Secret storage heart was clothing, clover was plants and trees, diamond is misc. items (axes, watering cans, streetpuss items) and the blue one is just random furniture
A is stuff I use regularly, favourite clothing etc.
B is all fruit baskets
C is villager stuff so paper, wrap, items they may like, snails, butterflies etc.
Secret storage is unorderables, pictures, songs and plants.
I generally dont have many items that I want to keep, I only keep a lot of unorderables & will find a place in my house for them.
Im not a huge fan of keeping pages and pages of clothes, furniture or anything that I can simply just order through the catalog again.
Closet storage:
A: fruit, stationery, random tools, mannequins
B: furniture. Most of these I have on hand in case villagers ask me for some new furniture. I try to keep a few things that will suit each of their houses.
C: Clothes
Secret storage:
Spade: Streetpass handhelds and extra fruit storage space
Heart: Bush starts
Club: Saplings
Diamond: All unorderables, will probably sell most of them at some point.
(The only reason I know what the symbols are is that I have the game open and I'm looking right at them )
In my secret storage
Spade: would be things my player can hold, along with fruit and tree saplings that I am saving when I'm going to start my layout of my town.
Heart:Would be all my hats and the helemt type hats, as I have too many hats XD
Club:dresses, clothing, footwear - because I have too much
Diamond:letters, wrapping and wall paper and flooring
In the other drawers, as in A, B and C I have the whole collection of fish, mushrooms you need for thanks giving already stored up, ready for that event.
And then in my other players storage is my items. XD
Been trying to get rid of stuff as I got too much stuff I don't need, I might just sell everything if people don't want it.
In my regular drawers I usually arrange it like:
Tools > Shirts > Dresses > Pants > Socks > Shoes > Hats > Accessories
And then I just put all of the extra furniture into my secret storage. I usually try to arrange it by set, or by theme. So like I keep all of the food items together, and all of the holiday items together and so on.
My closet is just used for clothes. Every thing else goes in my secret storage which is basically just furniture (stored in no order at all.) I keep my tools in my letters as presents from least to most useful. So far it seems to be a pretty easy way for me to find everything. ?\(ツ)/?
I need to get it more organized but for the most part in my secret storage I keep all my saplings, bushes, flowers, and mushrooms all in the green clover section
I then keep all my furniture that I am not using in the blue spade section, the red heart has all my hats, shoes, dresses, socks, etc.
Then my orange diamond section has random sets that I want to put in other characters houses but I'm still upgrading the room sizes. So that is like my temporary storage of items I'm going to use soon.
I keep all my tools in my letters in a certain order so I always know where each thing is. I also keep outfits I wear a lot on my mannequins so I can quickly switch to something new if I want.
My ABC drawer's though....well...those are very unorganized and I need to go back through them xD this post is giving me ideas of what to do though!
I wished my storage was organized ;__; My locker is mostly random stuff and stuff I trade with other people (cause you can't take your secret locker with you unfortunately lol). Since I have 3 characters, I have their secret storage filled with stuff in order of rareness. My mayor has all the rare unorderables and amiibo items. My 2nd character has unoderable furniture sets/lower importance unorderables. My 3rd has random, miscellaneous unorderables like clothes/accessories.
A for clothes, (I like to change every so often lol)
B for miscellaneous e.g. tools, fruit
C for furniture
I have no idea when I'm going to use my secret storage as I don't know what to put in there! Because I can't pull stuff out at the train station, I feel like I'll have to put things in there I rarely take out. I think it would've made sense to have more space in the train station lockers, but I'll probably just stuff furniture in there since it's the only thing I won't need if I go to someone else's town.
Now this is a good question, let's take a gander. It looks like I have tools followed by silver tools followed by golden tools. Not sure why they are in that order since I use the golden tools that means they should be most accessible. Following that is my Wet Suit set not including the one I actually use to dive which goes with the tools. After that my spare silver axes for if I ever want the special tree stumps followed by mushrooms and mannequins. That was the A section. Section B has standard fruit with their corresponding perfect fruit followed by the exotic fruit and all the different sweet treats and cakes. Then some cedar saplings ready for landscaping and my Zodiac Set. Section C is just all the unorderables from the island and Pascal's ship set and the sixth part is all the collectible fireworks. My second character has all the Gracie unorderables stored and other bits and pieces are strewn across the floor of my house - normal saplings, ores, feathers, etcetera. Secret storage is almost full of campground and RV unorderables and when I build it onto his house my second character will store the rest.
A. Clothing and accessories.
B. Furniture, usually the items I get from Katie and Gulliver.
C. Fruits, unused letters and tools.
Secret storage for Gracie items, Brewster's, and other unorderable furniture.
Alt. Characters
A, B, C are the same. Both secret storage are used for Welcome Amiibo RV items.
A - Wifi goodies (toy hammer, wetsuit, scary masks) that i use when playing with my friends
B - Trading items
C - Turnip Storage
Secret Storage:
A - Furniture
B - More Furniture
C - Misc (carpets, wallpaper, clothes, etc.)
D - Gardening supplies
My alternate characters have nothing since I don't even know if I want to keep their house plots in the same locations as they are now. It would be a hassle to move all the furniture from their house, destroy it, and move it some place else.
