I don't even know, man. There are SO MANY good villagers that I want to experience. I'm trying to slow down, relax, and just appreciate whoever is on my town at the moment. I like a lot of the unpopular villagers, so it's not really that I want "better" ones, just that I get antsy and feel like I'm missing my chance at variety or something.

At first I was dead set on a list of villagers I wanted in my town. I added my old NL villagers who I clicked with most to the list and then went through the rest based on their aesthetic.
But I've come across some villagers that I ended up really loving and never thought about keeping (of course that's changed now kekeke).
I have a lot of repeat personalities in my town but I don't really mind. For now I'll just enjoy the journey rather than focusing on some villager checklist, if that makes sense.

I don't really have a set list of dreamies. There are so many villagers I like, it would kind of be pointless. So when I'm hunting for villagers, I try to keep an open mind and just chose whoever feels like they would be a good fit. It's like letting fate decide.
I kind of do the same when I chose who to have stay and who to leave if they ask. If it feel right to let them go, I would let them go.

basically i discover a new villager i want, stare at my map for 20 minutes debating with myself about who i could maybe replace, and then close my map and cry about how i wish they would just give me 30 villager slots already

I have a few 'musts' (well, two, really - Marshal and Merengue, Marshal being the only Smug I like, and Merengue because I love her and planned to have her house as the centerpiece of my cafe area.), and everyone else is a mix of random move-ins/islanders I've grown to love and me picking the cutest villagers to fill in the missing personality slots.
