I’m not really looking to buy, trade, or sell villagers or furniture in the near future, (nah i totally am) but i’ve always been curious as to how the buyer receives the item or villager without getting scammed and vice versa with the seller and tickets/money. I’m like super new to all this so idk anything about anything
Well when it comes to selling villagers I just make the person buying them drop first and then lead them to the house. I've never had any problems with anyone on here personally but something to keep an eye out on is if someone you're trading with has someone else at their town and the person tries to leave after you drop your things on the ground disconnect immediately. That's a red flag right there. They're trying to save so they can then disconnect and you lose your items. I think it's safe to say stick with people with 100% feedback. I know this from another member on the site, I personally have never had any problems with it. Just be cautious, and disconnect if any suspicious behaviour happens. That's all for my essay lol
In terms of trading, a lot of it has to do with trust. For small items like furniture I try to trade with others who have something I want, rather than just selling for NMT or other currency so I can collect things I need for my island. When I do trades with other people I almost never step onto their island and just leave stuff right at the edge of their airport. I just think it's more respectful that way because people don't want their islands destroyed because of trading. After I drop my stuff first, then I confirm the items I traded for, and that's pretty much it.
For large catalog trades, this forum is good because of the feedback system and if someone has good feedback I generally don't have an issue doing large trades with them. As for villagers, I also look at feedback, and if they've been active on the forums but also be aware of some ways to protect yourself from scams just in case.
Most people on here are generally very nice so you shouldn't have any issues!
