I've seen this be asked plenty of times, but how come your character's parents are okay with them going off to live among animals on a random island, especially since your character is implied to be a child?

I think the player character is designed that way so that children and adults alike can enjoy the games. So the pc it's the age you imagine her/him to be.
In the AC movies the human character is a child (and she's allowed to travel and live on her own), but Tortimer is still in charge, so the town works differently.
For some reason one-piece outfits with legs are classified as dresses so when they are worn by a villager(such as the denim overalls being modeled by Spork) whether they be male or female, they turn into a dress.I have no idea why that's the case but it might work for some villagers....but maybe not for ol' Spork.
Why can't I sit in the tractor or steamroller furniture items? I tried to for my journal and noticed I could only push and pull and spin, which literally implies that I can move several tons of metal but can't actually climb my not-several-tons heavy body up it to sit on it.
