How do people get so many bells?

Okay so the most I've ever had on New Leaf is about 300,000 bells.
Most of the people on here have got like 1 million or more.
Please tell me how you got that many bells?

If you have the island unlocked you can get about 300,000 to 400,000 bells very quickly by catching rare beetles in the evening.Catching fish with fins like sharks on the island also helps.

i caught beetles on the island for a few nights (not farming all that much a night, maybe 2-3 trips) and got around 2m. then i just played the stalk market. oh, and letting people sell turnips in your town when re-tail's buying them at decent prices. people tend to leave big tips.

you could also sell items/hybrids/villagers online.

I got most of my bells from my shop, before I was on here I caught bugs on the island and that's a very effective way if doing it. If you go on youtube and search LinandKo bell making guide ( or something like that ) you can watch Kohei do it and he gives a lot of tips too. It was very helpful for me

I have sold villagers and I now have around 25 millions.
You can also sell turnips if you have access to wifi with your DS, then you can sell in other towns and earn millions

You could sell your tbt bells for like 15 mil or something.

Im too scared to try turnips, but I sell tons of perfect fruit in my friends' towns. :3

I just sold Rosie for 30 mil before that I would sell hybrids and rare stuff. I never really went to the island because I'm really lazy

Hybrid and perfect fruit premium farming are non-risky ways. An inventory of perfect fruit + one locker inv (like, the scrollable sections) nets you around 1.3m?


Turnips are pretty lucrative though.

I get my bells via the stalk market and selling fish and furniture.

To start off, I mostly just went to the island and farmed beetles/sharks. Later on I made most of my bells through turnips and trading region-exclusives/event items on the forums. And if you're against selling villagers, you definitely can still make a lot through other methods, considering the fact that I never sold any of mine and I still hit 100mil quite a long time ago.

edit/also when selling beetles/sharks you could do the... campsite... trick??? not sure what to call it.

About thirty minutes to an hour of beetle hunting on my island (at around 7pm) can usually get me around 400,000 bells WITH the Bell Boom Ordinance.

Thanks everyone, I went to the island last night twice and made just under 1 million bells! I managed to pay off my final home loan and upgrade to a castle interior!
