How do I start Turkey Day event ?

I’ve just updated my switch as I had problems with it not turning on.

How do I get started with the Turkey Day event can I only get the DIY’s from balloons ? How do I buy all the cool new items? I want to buy the food and champagne but can’t find them in Nooks Cranny.

Food items are the seasonal new year's day items, I believe they're unavailable until 26/12.
Turkey Day is timelocked until the actual day of the event.

No that's so sad I just wanted to start collecting all the cute toys when I had an hour spare a day

yeah it is too bad because some people cannot play the game at the right time but we can time travel in the past if you want to play the event (just in cas you miss it) that's good news. right now, we have to wait.
