How do I prevent myself from tanning at the Island?

So I've been doing island tours a lot, right? For the 5000 medal badge of course. But my character is tanning quite a lot and it's really bothering me so I want to prevent myself from tanning anymore from the island, how do I do that? I heard something about wearing like a straw hat or something from there, maybe the birthday hat, and long sleeve clothing? How do I prevent myself from tanning?

I'm sure big hats and full face masks will prevent tanning, umbrellas too but you won't be able to use them on tours

Yes like the above poster said, clothing really does help. You can also time travel to get back pale skin, it's risky but very helpful.

I don't know for sure, but probably. Although it doesn't look so good something like the King Tut mask is probably your best bet though, i could buy one for you if you needed, but i'm sure the straw hat will work, good luck! I don't know if clothing has that much affect, I don't think it does, less clothing makes you tan faster, but I don't think more clothing stops you from tanning.

Big hats, facial items, and umbrellas help remove your tans. And I've read each day they tone down, until your character is back at his/her natural state.

if you have any you could possibly try wearing a lemon pack or cucumber pack. I got a horrible tan last year and lemon packs saved my terrible, terrible tan and would be tan this year xD

i actually wouldn't recommend using the king tut mask to stop yourself from getting a tan. even though it would work, wearing it is pretty much the same as your character having bad luck for the day, meaning that they'd trip a lot when they run, which can be a problem if you're doing tours. using a different mask that covers the whole face (such as the joker mask, like somebody else mentioned) would probably be better.

i don't know if wearing long sleeved shirts would help, but if it does you could try wearing them, too!

Liquefy in his walkthrough faq (gamefaqs, section 23 events in July) - gives the list of all hats & masks that prevent tanning. (Includes the lemon pack & all the umbrellas)

I agree about wearing the King Tut mask, works, but you wold be tripping all over the place!

I wear the straw boater - you could leave a hat on the island and just pick it up when you get there to wear.

In one town I leave a whole outfit on the island (your own island I mean) - makes sense especially if its winter & you have winter clothes on (eg I leave an aloha shirt, shorts, sandals, hat & sunglasses)
Anything you leave on your island like that does not disappear when you leave. (you either buy clothing from Grams or you wear to bring over & go back in patterns/shoeless)

Any sort of wide brim hat will do. You could keep a silly exotic hat to wear every time you go to the island

Yep. Either you can spend some time outside on the actual island itself with the beach and palm trees and stuff or you can tan on tours if it's a sunny tour (which is like 80% of the tours, cri). I now have like a full body coverup that I bring to the island, lol. Straw hat, jester mask, folk shirt, chino pants, and the shearling boots to cover up any skin showing. I don't want any tanning, no thank you!
