How do I post videos in their video form?

Whenever I post the link, it's a url, even with [video.]

Use [video ] and [ /video] to embed videos (without the spaces).

Despite what this post said earlier, site settings and forum skin does not affect if videos will display or not.

I know exactly what your doing wrong.
You need the sharing link, not the actual HTML itself lol

Here's the difference:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8EPblJtQlM (Directly copying the link from HTML)

https://youtu.be/Q8EPblJtQlM (Sharing link)

Then, you put the 2nd link into

So it would look like this: [Video*]https://youtu.be/Q8EPblJtQlM[/video*] (remember to remove the asterisks)
And you get your result!

Both of these work. I'm not sure exactly what Thomas was doing wrong but at least it's sorted now, I guess.
