How do I get the get the second floor of the museum?

If I remember right you have to donate something to each category in the museum:fish,bugs, fossils,authentic art/paintings.I remember that I had donated in every category but art and when I donated my first authentic painting I got the second floor.

You need 25 in every section, and you have to have talked to Blathers 14 times, I believe.

Redd sells fake and real art. The trick is to buy the one that's real and not the fakes.

His selection is guaranteed to have at least one real piece of art, though you can have more than one if you're lucky. Look online for "New Leaf Art Guide" and you'll find one immediately.

Requires ::
Must have been certified mayor for at least 14 days
Talk to Blathers at least 14 days ((easy to do if you go in to donate... and does not have to be consecutive))
At least 20 items donated over all
Must have donated at least 1 item into each category.

Blathers can be "Thinking" during the day or night to suggest the PWP... so you don't have to wait for his normal waking hours.

Is there any pattern to when Redd comes? Finding a piece of genuine art is the only thing stopping Blathers from requesting an upgrade and I have not yet set eyes on that fox. The closest I've gotten is Chow selling me a fake picture he got from him.

Redd shows up randomly, but only once per week, if at all.
