How did your town get its name?

My town's name is Happy because when my grandmother, mom, and uncle came to the U.S. from Thailand, I guess they wanted to pick "American" names to go by ...My grandma was always so happy and sweet that people just started calling her Happy...and it stuck.....RIP..grandma..Happy Dawson..

I tried to name my first town Sweetblossom, but that was too long, so I had to think of a shorter name... then Rosedale popped into my head and I went with that :P When that town got deleted prematurely, I went ahead and called my current town Rosedale too x3

I usually name my town after ones from Tales of Symphonia because I really loved the game. I did call my second town Sorbet because someone once suggested dessert themed town names, and I thought it was pretty.

I chose the name 'Wolftown' for my town because it represented my YouTube name! Now that I look at that name though, I wonder what on earth I could have been thinking. I don't really like the name of my town anymore! Oh well, it's nice place, and the villagers don't seen to mind. Besides, I can't seem to think of any better name.

I decided to start up my old Sapphire version the other week, and I had a Gardevoir called Melchoir in my party. It sounded pretty.

Saltem...

The name itself is a pun on Salem. Often when I played Town of Salem, some of the players ended up pretty Salty.

And thus, Saltem was born. Though truth be told, I think everyone regrets it. I don't though.

Laputa from the Studio Ghibli film "Laputa: Castle In The Sky".

I even designed my town flag to be the pendant the main character wears. And the town tune is from My Neighbour Totoro. I'm a big Ghibli fan.

i like when there's alliteration between mayor names and town names so i knew i wanted a town starting with the letter 'm' and at first i liked merry but it put me off that there was already a villager named that so i decided on merrily :)

I'd actually never played AC before so when Rover asked me where I was going I didn't know I was actually naming my town. Right before I played New Leaf I was playing Pokemon SoulSilver. One of the towns in that game is called Olivine, so that was the first town name that came to my mind. Unfortunately, I misremembered the name and called my town in New Leaf Olvine. I'm kind of happy that I misspelt it now though, as it's slightly more original.

Later on I found out that the pokemon town Olivine is named after the bright green gem called Olivine. It's also a combination of the two words 'Olive' and 'vine', which are also both green. This made me happy as my town is also really green! :)

I wanted something to do with nature and plants, and I happen to have a necklace with a gold four leaf clover charm on it. I thought Clover sounded like a cute name, so I picked that.

I have been thinking of making a town named Poker, a town themed about a man who gets rich from playing poker, but goes mad from it. Losing many things in the process.

I think I'm going to hang on to the idea tho, I could maybe make out into a book one day.

Since I live by the ocean, misty and foggy mornings are pretty common. I was sitting there, thinking of a name andd.. Mistvale. Bam. Fogvale doesn't sound as cool in my opinion. XD So mist was the default. :D

When I got ACNL, I wanted to name my town Day's Break so that it would match the theme I had going with my old ACWW Town. But, because of the character limit, I ended up going with Daybreak. I really like it, and Daybreak fits so much better into conversations than Day's Break.
