Like the title says, what did you do for Christmas this year?? Do you have a special tradition? Or did you just spend time with family and friends? ;7;
For me, I had a big lunch with my family (with a big ham, potato salad, cupcakes, cake and more!), and then my dad came over and we binge watched a bunch of Sweet Home. It was really cool and a lot of fun!!
Sounds like fun. It was Covid Christmas Central here. Opened gifts over the phone with my mother and stepfather yesterday afternoon. Talked to my father in the morning and he opened his while we talked. Spent the rest of the day with the cats, setting up their new water fountain and watching them stalk their new toys.
Oh, I did watch Mister Magoo's A Christmas Carol, which I do each year.
I didn't really do much for Christmas, my parents have been busy lately so we weren't able to have the Christmas feast on that day but we're having that tommorow.
to be honest, my family and i haven’t really done anything for christmas in years and the covid restrictions definitely didn’t help lmao. however, the one thing that hasn’t changed is my mom worked her butt off to make us all a lovely dinner; roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, etc and it was delicious! even though our christmas celebrations are minimal, at least we’ve got good food aha. :’^)
so i couldn't see my whole family this year for obvious reasons, which was actually great for me because they aren't exactly nice people
so i spent the day with my parents and siblings, we opened all presents in the morning then spent the rest of the day playing games like uno and mario kart whilst blasting music on the speakers
i had an amazing christmas, which doesn't happen often for me, so i'm really happy that i enjoyed it despite the lockdown ☆
We didn't have you dress up fancy for midnight Christmas mass this year so it was pretty comfy! We just had a nice dinner and some potato salad and ham that my brother cooked (thank u brother!!!), and the various chocolates and pastries my mom got from her patients/doctor friends for dessert. Wanted to make pudding and (non-alcoholic) eggnog but there wasn't any space in the fridge because of all the food my mom got as gifts huhu but maybe there will be more space around new year's? Hopefully anyway
Feeling a bit bad because i couldn't go out to buy my parents a present this year but hopefully i can make something to give them when I'm less swamped in schoolwork but my parents got me some new pajamas! I must repay them!!
As for Christmas traditions........ maybe my mom being gifted a coffee maker by at least one person? It happens every year and it's very sad because no one in this house drinks non-instant coffee hahahuhu
Usually on Christmas Day we go to church and then go to my grandparents' for a big family dinner. We couldn't do either of those things due to COVID restrictions. So my mom, sister and I just stayed home, opened presents, did whatever we wanted all day and then had spaghetti and watched Christmas movies at night. I think it might actually be my favourite Christmas, it was much more enjoyable to relax and take the day easy with close family members than trying to make small talk with family members I barely know.
I had a pretty busy day, restrictions were relaxed for the day in my area, so we could visit people and have people visit us. We opened presents at home late in the morning, then we went out to visit people.
First we went to my grandparent's house, then we went to my aunt's house which was a lot of fun (played shot roulette with my cousins), then we came home where my brother and his godfather had arrived and we ate christmas dinner.
I actually got drunk and ate a lot for the first time in nearly a year lol. It was nice, my mum made a really good ginger cake with a thick dark chocolate ganache and a clementine buttercream in the middle , we had a lot of meats and side dishes, and an Irish cream cheesecake. Also a cheese board that no one touched because we were all too full. Will be eating leftovers for the rest of the week I think hahaa.
I cooked a lot of food for dinner! When I was younger, we used to open presents in the morning. But since everyone in my family is older now, we didn't really have presents to open. So just dinner this year!
Normally I would travel to see my parents but this year due to coronavirus my boyfriend and I stayed home and celebrated together, just the two of us. We didn’t do much, just opened the gifts we got each other and made a bit of extra effort towards making dinner. It didn’t feel very festive but it also felt safe, and I am grateful we’re able to stay home and avoid others. I do wish I could have seen my family but it’s just too risky. My parents are older and not very healthy and I would never forgive myself if I contributed to their getting Covid due to my traveling to see them. So we did phone calls this year. It’s been hard not seeing my parents for such a long time. I hope the vaccine can change this.
This year we spent Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas Day with my husband's parents.
At my family's Christmas, it was just myself, my husband, my parents, my brother, my aunt, my uncle and my cousin. My father has been undergoing cancer treatment all year so I've spent a lot of time at their house helping out him and my mom, as has my aunt, so we weren't too worried about COVID because our three households have been forced to mingle during this whole year anyway. Our area also isn't a hotspot so we have that going for us too. We had a small dinner of breakfast foods because that's my dad's tradition and then opened gifts.
On Christmas Day we had dinner with my husband's parents and then opened gifts. Later in the evening, we got a call from my husband's sister and got to wish her and all of our nieces and nephews a Merry Christmas over the phone. Our gifts for them will be delivered sometime next week I think.
In quarantine watching movies.
My dad tested positive for COVID on the 23rd. He isn’t feeling bad anymore, but we’re just here all trying to avoid him in the other room. So watching movies, opening presents and wearing masks inside the house. That’s my Christmas this year.
At home with my mom. Couldn't really do it any other way, so yeah. Nice to have it chill though, I hate being around too many people even if I know them.
Spent in 3 different places
First i went to my gf house and we had a lunch with her family
After that we webt to my brothers house and shares some gifts and played with mu nephew
Then i went home with some friends and we spent the night talkin and playing videogames
Spent it with my father for a good portion of the day! Then we (my brothers and I) went over to my mothers to open gifts, then a few hours after, we went back to my father's for dinner ^^
It was a quite eventful day, along with Christmas Eve, which was spent at my aunt's house. I had a pretty lovely Christmas despite it not feeling very Christmassy! :3
