How did you revamp your town?

I chopped down every tree
put every flower on the beach
and made the entire town monochrome with paths I made.
I added some colorful flowers and greenery and bam it's done- well not yet part of my town is still being used to breed flowers and i need some more trees but you get the idea xD

There's no rule about how wide to make your paths. I just prefer two spaces wide, and sometimes single space.

Yeah there's truly no set rules. You might like narrow paths whereas I dislike them cus I feel they make the walking area feel cramped but well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :D

What matters is what makes you feel good bout your town.

i'm still in the process of redesigning my town. i already have a basic layout so now i'm focusing on getting all my dreamies first so it's easy to design around them.

I got lucky with my original map. I luv it. I am actually redoing part of my town ATM since I decided I wanted to replot all 10 of my villagers. I cycled to 20 and am in the process of moving them back in to specific places. Once I finish that I'll get rid of all the extra tt'ing flowers and finish the paths. Most of my patching is done and all my real pwp's are placed (except the 2 I'm still waiting on.) my bushes, trees, and other flower placements are pretty much done as well.

It just depends really. Usually I stare at something I'm unsatisfied with since I know there's untapped potential there, when inspiration strikes me on how it could be better and I overhaul it. I've never chopped down every tree in my town before. I always renovate in sections time spanning from a few weeks to several months depending on if I need flowers or bushes or something like that. :)

I read that in Mable's voice. :)

I just updated my dream address yesterday when I had a rainbow, so feel free to check it out, but I had to build around my villagers houses because I started getting them before I really thought about decorating, so they were kind of randomly placed. But I hated the amount of trees in the beginning so I had basically chopped down all my trees to begin with, I usually plant them all in a line by the train tracks, so I'm not totally devoid of trees. But then I got a general set up for how I wanted my paths to be and I set them down, it took me forever to find ones that I liked and even now I'm considering changing them. I left spaces for PWPs and other villager houses in my paths and then filled in later. Once I had my path placement set in stone I went back and replanted trees and planted bushes, placed flowers, etc. I'm really happy with how my town has turned out. It's not 100% as I'm still missing two dreamies, but I have places for them already. :)

My town has the tree-train thing going on too! About the villager houses, I don't plot place so it's not really an issue to me. And for my paths, they are the dirt natural type so I won't have trouble with "choosing" them.
What I'm curious about is how you managed about the whole bush and tree thing...Did you follow a guide or something to tell you when a bush isn't gonna grow or how a tree is going to die because too many trees are in this area?

I didn't follow a guide or anything, I mean I know that you can only have a chain of 12 (or 13) bushes and trees count in that as well, but I really just planted them in a way that was aesthetically pleasing to me. I'm very OCD so everything in my town has to be neat and orderly, so all of my trees and bushes were planted with purpose. I wasn't aiming for a certain amount in any area or anything. Just whatever looked good to me. Most of my bushes are a space apart - bush in one spot then a space then another bush like this: xox, x's being bushes and o's being spaces. Also you can't plant them right against houses, buildings, ledges, or walls. Or PWPs.

Right now I'm sick of my paths layout, so I'm letting villagers plot wherever they want for now so that I can work around it and use some creativity.

I think my PWP are in the places I want them to be so I don't have to remove any excluding the Jungle Gym that doesn't match my town...
