Klaus: My first campsite visitor. (Hated him on sight, love him dearly now. I just love his glum, world-weary face and his pretty light blue fur and his blond curls and his bizarrely empty house.)
Diana: Mystery island tour very early on. (I had no idea who she was but was so delighted to FINALLY find a villager who looked cute. Her design has only grown on me; she will never leave my island ever.)
Merengue: the mystery island right after Diana. (She was my ninth or tenth villager. First villager I encountered that I recognized by sight; I felt very lucky to get her. She has such a cool design, unique and sweet, but as my island takes shape she's no longer a perfect fit. I'll let her go soon.)
Boris: Mystery island. (Love this guy, love his flamboyant default outfit and his cool house and his cranky personality. I picture him as a guy who's had a long, interesting life and now he's a laid back dude who does what he wants and feels no shame.)
Cherry: Campsite visitor. (Again, felt very lucky to have her as one of my first campsite visitors--sometimes the RNG in this game can feel very cruel but it's been very kind of me as well. Going to replace her with Agnes soon, though.)

Not included here is any record of the day when I spent 5 hours or so mystery island hopping. I made a list of about ~30 villagers I wanted, I had 40 tickets, I figured I had a decent shot at getting one of them. Instead I ended up with Jitters, that poor anxious birdie, who was fine. But it was such a miserable day. Like my whole IRL day sucked because of it. About five solid hours in game, knowing that I had to get all my searching done before bed, no time to gather resources on the islands, and every time I hit a rock I'd feel guilty because the clock was ticking.

I did it once and realized I had no intention of doing it again. Having these long chunks of anxious, unhappy playtime looming over me would have ruined the game for me. So I bought some amiibo and man, not looking back.
