Friday, Mathilda pinged me and asked if I would catch a carp for her. I declined, because I'm trying to keep fish and bugs out of their houses. She said she understood and she'd try to do it herself.

At the time, I did not have a carp on me, nor did I catch one that day. There should have been no way for her to obtain one, but when I stopped in Saturday, there was a tank, with a carp, sitting on the sleek side table I had just sent her!

Do villagers actually catch their own fish and insects? I've played, off and on, for four years and not seen that before.

Her house was finally starting to look good, too!

I would say they do, since you didn't give her one yourself. Kinda sucks when there is a surprise bug or fish in a villagers house.

I didn't think they could get anything on their own until I Lopez ended up with a giant totem pole in his house that I didn't give him. Normally I don't care what they put in their houses but this thing is blocking multiple pieces of furniture and it just looks bad.

As long as they are happy that's what matters.
