How can I catch a sturgeon

Im bored right now, and I need to catch a stringfish and sturgeon before the end of March. My resident services is currently upgrading so I can't get any nook miles tickets. is there any way to get it on your main island? I've used over 50 fish bait already. Also is it easy to spawn sturgeons and stringfish on mystery islands with fish bait?

I caught mine on my own island and not on the mystery islands lol. There's no easy way other than crafting bait and spamming it. Sturgeon is at the river mouth (where the ocean meets the river) and stringfish is at the clifftop. No idea about the spawn rates on the mystery islands though.

Yea, I was watching that video, planning to try it tomorrow when I can go to mystery islands again

I was able to find both of them on a rainy afternoon. I think rain helps a bit with the spawn rates. I know it's not something you can control, but if between now and the end of the month, you hop on and it's raining, hang around by the river mouth or clifftop (time of day depending) and throw some bait then.

My brother catches these like they're going out of style haha. I rarely see them and I've only caught two so far.

I found sturgeon close to the southern water outlet on my island. It was a cloudy day if that makes any difference. I seem to find one a day.
