How can I catch a scorpion?

make sure it's in the right months (july-september i think? I just know they start spawning in july) make sure there is a lot of cleared space since they need the actual ground to spawn. I don't know if it'll help your chances by removing patterns and flowers, but I probably would remove everything in the general area you saw your first scorpion. They have set spawn points so they tend to spawn in one particular area (similar to the dragonflies, which spawn around rivers and maybe ponds)

I only caught a tarantula during the summer solstice in one of my old towns and I never got a scorpion but I have extensively read about them and listened to some youtubers express their frustration about it so I think I can help you out.

Scorpians are a lot easier to catch than the trantula. The only advice I could give is, to walk slowly, because it won't go towards you then. It would watch you though.

Thank you guys for all the advice! I’m having problems figuring out where they spawn. I have been walking around town and can’t quite find one.

I believe that whenever I play the game, they always spawn less than the spiders do. That may be wrong though and just personal experience. I do believe they can spawn anywhere except on beaches.

i usually find scorpions to spawn more frequently than tarantulas...

but make sure you're in july or august, past 7pm, and got a bug net. i'm not sure how to make them spawn faster than going in and out of buildings. if you find one, catch it the same way as you got the tarantula.

Yeah, if you ever lose the scorpian (it jumping into water or off the cliff, to attacking you) instantly go into a building, come out and it should respawn.

Days that you get a catch a scorpion or a tarantula coupon challenge are a good time to try to catch one. Two towns were set in summer when the update was released. The girl player had catch a tarantula. In less than an hour a tarantula moved and than sat in the same spot waiting to be caught. The other 2 players had the same challenge and caught it in a short period of time.

Other town had get a tarantula and catch a item for the museum. The only summer bugs left for the museum was the scorpion. She caught a scorpion in 30 minutes and a tarantula an hour later. The other players got the catch a tarantula and caught them 30 to 90 minutes.

I've completed around 12 players golden nets. Found it's best to go about your daily routine. After delivery a gift to a villager I walked outside and found a scorpion waiting for me. If it tries to jump into the water or over the cliff walk back a little. Sometime I've got lucky and stopped them from jumping in. Scorpion like to try and hide in flowers. They like to run to the red flowers.
I have the net in my pocket ready to go. All the other tools are stored away in letters. Once I see one I pull out the net and go into stalking mode like you do when you are on the island. If it tries to attack I freeze until it sits down and than move slowly towards it. Try to catch it while it's in front of me. Fireworks in August is a good time for those 2 bugs to appear.
