How can I breed purple pansies and purple windflowers?

I’m trying to breed these combos but I’m doing something wrong.

I’m using pink windflowers x pink windflowers and I’m only getting more pink windflowers.



And for the purple pansies I’m just lost. I just keep planting blue pansies with red pansies and red pansies with red pansies hoping something happens.

I've had pretty good success with blue pansies and blue pansies producing purple. It's not as common as just getting more blues though.

I have a coupon of blue pansies side by side as well but I I figured I have got to be doing something incorrect. Most of the other hybrid combos I try and doing well except those two.

I got all my purple windflowers by using blue × blue ones. I got the blue flowers i am using through island tours and wind flowers are my native flowers, just thought about adding this in case it has an affect on breeding? idk.

I have pink and blue windflowers planted together. I snagged them from hybrid island and just put them in a place where villagers couldn't mess with them until I was ready to start working on breeding. I got a purple one that came, on its own, from the rain watering them.

I don't know if it was the combination or if it was from 2 blue. But it couldn't hurt to have both present, I suppose.

If blue x blue is not working out, I think the best way to get purple windflowers and pansies is by breeding a blue and a red so you get a hybrid red and then breeding 2 hybrid reds.

i also got purple pansies from 2 blue pansies.. however those blue pansies i got from a hybrid island.

Hybrid flowers from mystery tour islands have the genetics tied to them that can produce purple windflowers and purple pansies.

To get them without these hybrids, you must do the following:

Pansies:
1. blue pansy + red pansy (seed) = hybrid/special red pansy
2. hybrid/special red pansy + hybrid/special red pansy = purple pansy

Windflowers:
1. red windflower (seed) + blue windflower = hybrid/special red windflower
2. hybrid/special red windflower + hybrid/special red windflower = purple windflower

Do note with these methods, you have about a 6% chance for these combinations to spawn a purple flower each day.

i accidentally got a purple windflower from two pinks (from hybrid islands) today so it definitely works if you wanna keep at it, but the combinations everyone else suggested will probably get you there faster

Thank you all! I’ll try these. Mines aren’t from the islands (as I haven’t been able to reach hybrid island). So I’ll try getti NBC e special combos and then breeding those!

Since there's still misinformation about this... No blue + blue will NOT get you purple pansies unless you:

1) Took them from a mystery island
OR
2) Breed a "special" blue pansy. NOT the one from white+white.


For purple pansies you breed from store bought seeds, you need to do the following:
1. Blue = White (seed) + White (seed)
2. Hybrid red = Blue + Red (seed)
3. Purple = Hybrid red + Hybrid red (6%)

Alternatively, instead of following step 3 above, you can do this to produce the same blue pansy you get from mystery islands.
3a. Mystery island blue = Hybrid red + Blue (25%)
4a. Purple = Mystery island blue + Mystery island blue (25%)

The catch for the alternate method is step 3a will also produce the blue pansy from step 1 at 25% as well. You can test these, but honestly you're better off just gathering all blues made from step 3a into one plot and watering them. Taking all blue hybrids from this plot and continually adding to the plot as well. You'll eventually get a purple this way

Correct, here is the information a person should follow if they want to breed flowers. NOTE: This is only for flowers FROM SEEDS, wild flowers and hybrids from Mystery Islands will have completely different result which may be worse or better. I've gotten Blue Mystery Island Pansie and they were able to produce Purples easily, but normal Blue Pansies will not.
